Most of the benchwork in a bio lab involves pipetting clear stuff into other clear stuff. The volumes are minute and variable and samples are often in limited supply. We developed a free interface using an iPad (or any tablet large enough to accommodate standard plastic labware) that lights up wells to help researchers track their samples. We designed a 3D printed adaptor to hold the plates over the screen for easier, faster pipetting and made the designs freely available for any researcher to print. The tool and 3D printing files are available at ipipet.teamerlich.org
