What is spiralizing ? A great way to re-introduce fruits and vegetables into noodles. Whether your vegetarian or just eating a healthier diet, you'll find the transformation and variety pleasing.
Step 1: Preparing Fruit or Vegetables
on many fruits and vegetables peeling skins are optional. some skins like sweet potato skins are very bitter so i prefer to peel them first. a flat end will serve you well when you set up the veg on the machine.
Step 2: Putting the Veg on Your Spiralizer.
**caution ** blades are crazy sharp always read your manufacturers instructions. Your veg goes between the cutting blade and the teeth that grip the back side allowing you to rotate your produce.
Step 3: Securing Your Veg.
Notice the pin that goes through the cutting blade and into the veg to help hold it in place.
Step 4: Slicing
Rotate the handle while applying steady pressure. notice the small lever lower right. it's designed to help you apply pressure by squeezing the sides together. long fingers help.
Step 5: Making Great Food. Different Blades Make Different Shapes.
Bake sweet potatoes in the oven with a little olive oil, salt and pepper. Eat them when tender or cook crisp for chips.
Step 6: Noodles
use noodles in soups, as spaghetti or make great salads.
Step 7: Apple Slaw Recipe
Spiral sweet potato 1cup
Spiral Apple 2 cups
mix 2 tbs coconut oil
1 tbs almond butter
1 tbs currants or raisins
2 tsp lemon juice
pour mixture over slaw noodles and combine.
chill in fridge and serve when cool.
