Static Generator

Introduction: Static Generator

I made a static generator and decided to make an instructables about it. I forgot to take pictures of it before it was finished though but its fairly simple so it doesn't really matter.

To make this project you will need

some kind of case to put it all in,

a 12v ion generator (you can get them on ebay for about $5)

9v battery holder and battery

a bolt and a bit of steel or aluminium

for tools you will need a drill, hotglue gun and soldering iron.

The first thing you need to do is drill a hole in the case for the high voltage wires to go out. then glue the 9v battery holder to the side of the ion generator now obviously you connect the red(positive) lead of the battery holder to red(positive) lead of the ion generator, and do the same for the black(negative) leads but connect them to the bolt(ground). You will need to hot glue the ion generator in place so that it doesn't move around. Now you just need to solder and hot glue the connections. Next connect the high voltage leads to the metal and hot glue it to the side of the container so that it can easily be made contact with.

Step 1: Finished

Finally put a 9v battery in and have fun.
