Use a Cell Phone to Power Leds

a good rechargable source to power your led lights and recycle that old cell phone sorry my pics suck i just got a camera on my cell phone and im missing some picks cause i lost my trusty screwdriver ill add them asap after i find my screwdriver of course

Step 1: Stuff You Need

1.old cell phone with carger
4.drill or needle nose pliars
5.eletrical tape
6.the right screwdriver helps

Step 2: Find Out Wat Your Pos and Neg Is

u do that by taking your battery out some times it is already listed if not then take your led and touch it to the contacts tell it lights up you have pins that the bttery conect to make a note of which is which

Step 3: Take Apart Ur Cell Phone

I have a nokia 2610 it pops apart some unscrew and are a pain in the but to find the right screwdriver but with a lil determination you can get them with a flat head or a knife if my camera didn't suck you would be able to see the screws after the case is removed if you look close in the bottom left hand corner i broke it trying to get the screw out amazingly the phone still works properly

Step 4: Once You Have the Inside Takin Apart

get two different color wires twist one on the pos pin and one on the neg if your good at soldering solder it if not o well me eather put electric tape on the wires

Step 5: Run Your Wires Out the Top or Sides

Give a general description of the Stepyou may have to drill or break some parts of the plastic to make room for the wires i did and i ran mine out the top

Step 6: Put It Back Together

and your done you can add alagetor clips or just connect the wires to your led lights your choice and if you arch it you gotta take the battery out and put it back in to reset it have fun

Briliiant idea. Right now I have a cell phone and a cell phone torch accessory. However the torch accessory has its own independent power source as a button cell. So can I get rid of the button cell and wire the torch directly to the phone battery? Also will this work on any type of phone?

Why not just use AA Cells - or am I missing the point of using a cellphone battery to light a LED aka make a flashlight?
