Introduction: Lemonade
As far as I'm concerned, the secret to amazing lemonade is using the lemon zest. :D
This is the lemonade recipe that I've been using forever - it includes a really easy-to-make lemon zest simple syrup that pushes it above and beyond regular lemonade!
Step 1: Ingredients:
- 3 ripe lemons (they need to be a little soft!)
- 1 cup sugar
- 8 cups water
Step 2: Juice Your Lemons
You need between 1/2 and 2/3 cup of lemon juice. Juice them and pour the pulp, juice and seeds into a strainer. Press the pulp to get out all the liquid. :)
Then pour that into the pitcher.
Step 3: Make the Simple Syrup
Pour one cup of sugar into your glass measuring cup and add one cup of water on top. Take a paring knife and cut off sections of zest from one of your lemon halves. Pop them in the cup and then put the mix in the microwave for four minutes.
Once it's out, stir to dissolve all the sugar and take out the zest.
Step 4: Mix and Serve!
Once you pour the simple syrup over the lemon juice, add enough water to fill the pitcher. Stir and you're ready to go :D
I never put ice in the pitcher, just in the individual glasses. That way it doesn't get watered down.

So when you put the zest in the microwave, you heat it up for four minutes?????
Also, if I sell this, what would you say a good price would be??????
Thank you! It looks so good, I can't wait to make it!

I like to make my Ice out of what ever I am drinking so when it melts if wont water it down, if it has alcohol you will want to leave that out as the alcohol wont freeze

Well, it will get watered down, of course - just more controllably by the drinker... (SORRY! - pedantry is my evil twin!)
Now, if you carbonate (with a Soda Stream / or maybe a soda syphon) the water, you should have a good {proper(?)} English lemonade...

This recipe looks Amazing! I will definitely try it. Lemonade is a favorite drink in Florida summers. I also like making lemonade with two lemons and a lime.

Yes, this is a great recipe. I also have used it for years. An old bartender's recipe is how I know it.

I'm going to give this a try...it sounds amazing! And you get instant cred b/c your cat looks like my dearly departed and terribly missed cat named Kitters. They could be twins!

Oh yum! I was at a flea market a few months back and got fresh squeezed lemonade, it was amazing, but I was FLOORED at the 20 oz for 7 bucks price. So excited to get to make my own much cheaper. :)
