Buzzer Game With Reset

I would like some help with this circuit. Description: It's like a regular electric circuit Buzzer game but with a no cheating reset option. 1. One must go from A to B to light L. 2. When you start (A) a green led turns on (G) 3. If you touch X, the buzzer sounds (S) an a red led (R) turns on, at this time (G) turns off. This means you have to restart from A 4. this must be powered by a 9V or 12V battery

DIY Bluetooth speaker build, advice please

Hi all Apologies for the newbie questions, I've decided to build my first portable speaker system. I was hoping to make my own version of the 'Vintage Audio Suitcase Speaker' e.g. www.vcase.com.au I have found some second hand 6.5 inch 'Response' woofers for a cheap price and I have two spare satellite speakers from my Logitech Z-5500 system. Suitcase should be relatively easy to source. What I'm struggling with is the amp and battery choice. I'd like this to be able to run for a few hours on battery, and be easy to recharge via mains or USB. I don't mind spending a bit of money on the amp as I'd like this to last a good few years. The tricky part is, with my current speaker plan, it would need to run 4 speakers that are rated at 70wrms each. Plus the Logitechs are 8 ohm and the Response woofers are 4 ohm. Is this possible? Advice much appreciated.

What switch to use for LED Light project

I have  seen a few build on here recently with installing LED lights on stairs.  I am liking that idea and overall have an idea of what I will do with the lights, but I can't seem to find the switch I want to use. I would like to set this up with 2 lasers or beams.  The idea is that one would be at the top of the stair and the other at the bottom.  They would be in  the wall so you can't really see them.  I only have easy access to one side of my stairwell so I am hoping the set up is something like a beam going to a reflector.  Once a beam is broken, the lights come on and remain on for a short period of time (30 seconds or so) and then they turn off.   The problem I am having is I either find thing like garage door beams that are big and hard to hide and require access to both side of the wall, or beams that only travel a foot and a half at the most.  The stairs are the standard three feet or so.

Flea treatment for our pets....

I recently had to move house and within two weeks of settling in my cats got attacked by fleas while outside. All the years they had not a single tick or flea so I did not pay too much attention until I spotted the first flea. Needless to say that once you spot one there are many hiding already... From past experience with my dog I did not trust the over the counter flea collars and decided to go to my vet. They recommended Frontline for the treatment, plus a flea bomb to treat the house and washing everything the cats like to sleep on. Came to just under $100AU - ouch... Mind you I have hardwood floors here, so I was quite confident the bomb would could kill all what might remain inside. The cats were kept indoors too to prevent new fleas finding them outside. Well, after two weeks of daily combing for fleas the problem did not get better - it got worse! Seemed they were having parties on my cats. Back to the vet to complain I was told it might take a bit longer to show the desired results. Hmmm, treatment every 4 weeks and after 2 weeks nothing happened?? On the way out an old couple with their two maltesers stopped me and said that they already gave up on Frontline and most other products as the fleas around here are resistant to the meds. They now only use Neem oil that is massaged into the skin and fur of their dogs. Sadly my cats would rather scratch me into meat strips then to let get near them with the oil. So I did some asking around with my friend Google and the story of the old folks seems to be confirmed for most parts of Australia anyway. Most flea collars and over the counter meds might still work to keep fleas away but not anymore to actually treat your pet once infected with more than a handful of fleas. And yes, I am aware of those sprays claiming to kill all fleas instantly but I also know cats like to clean themself and don't like the idea of them liking the spray off the fur. After some more digging I found out that Selamectin is still working and that works in several ways to control fleas and other parasites like heartworm and such. You can look it up on Wiki if you like. What I like about this med is the fact that fleas are really filthy things eating their own excremts. Since the poo is usually everywhere in the fur and hard to remove it makes the killing even easier. Plus in all spots where fles might be hiding but have noone to feed on they still eat their own ..... and die off. My vet only had Revolution available at a price of almost 25 bucks per single dose - no thank you... Instead I decided to bite the bullet and try one of the many online pharmacies for pet supplies. Here I found "Stronghold" containing the above Selamectin similar to Revolution in concetration (bit higher though)... The website stated to expect about 4 weeks for the delivery being xmas season and so on. For me that meant cleaning everything again, using a normal insect bomb again and a last round of washing the cats caves and other items of interest. To my surprise the parcal arrived ten days later, bit banged up but contents still fine. All up the time for the Frontline was over anyway and instead of paying again for a useless treatment I gave the new stuff a try. This was now two weeks ago and here is my summary: Unlike treating with Frontline my cats actually tolerated the application without going mad, the smell is much more pleasant. Did not expect anything to happen the first day and it takes a while to dry off the furr anyway so they got a day free of the dreaded flea comb. During the first week there was little to no indication of anything good happening but it was to be expected as it takes up to 10 days to build up in the blood as well. On day eight I had my first dead fleas in the comb and from here it got more every day. Mostly the adults while the smaller ones still seemd to be active. To the end of the second week I also got dead young ones in the comb indicating the promised break preventing them to grow up actually works. I will still monitor the process and keep up with monthly treatments during the summer. So you might see an update or two later on. How to properly treat your pet and enviroment once you noticed a flea problem. First: Don't panic! If you have carpet or your pets literally go everyhwere like your bed, sofa and so on you want to combine your effords to avoid a fresh infestation from hatching eggs. Ask around or check online if standard meds still have the desired effect in your local area, if not go for a product that does instead of wasting time and money! Spray treatments or insect bombs can work quite well to control what's left behind by your pet but you need to be aware of the life cycle of the pest in question. For most, including fleas, this means a single treatment might not do the trick. See it that way: You treat the animal, clean everything you can and also kill whatever crawls around. But there is still unhatched eggs and living fleas on your pet. So you need or better should repeat the house treatment 8 to 14 days later to get rid of whatever hatched. Garden beds or just your lawn can be a source of problem too, here Neem oil seems to do the trick quite well but you can use other products from your local garden center as well. What kills most harmful insects out there on your plant will do similar on fleas. To get the timing of all treatments right you might want to start on your pet and use a good, normal clean for the house and fabrics. Once you see the fleas go dead on your pet treat the rest. This way you can be sure all fles that make it onto your pet won't survive or produce more viable eggs. Now use whatever suits you to remove or kill the eggs, larvea and crawling fleas around you. If done right and the meds take care of eggs too you won't have any further problems. Regular checks should be done anyway and if you already know fleas are a problem in your area then please continue the treatment on your pet until the season is over. Things you might want to know to calm down a bit and prevent panic: Fleas on your pet are usually only biting them but not you. This does not mean they won't try if you have hundreds of them crawling in your bed. But they won't stay on you and it takes a good amount of bad luck to get bitten instead of just noticing something crawls on you. So the risk of getting some weird desease from an accidental flea bit is slim. When to be careful with a flea infestation? If you are allergic to their excrements or have an otherwise compromised immune system the dust containing flea excrements can cause reactions. So if your pets got you a lot of fleas and you notice breathing problems, red skin areas or itching you should contact your GP to discuss the problem and possible options. Short term a normal paper face mask like used for dust will help, same for anti-histamines if it is an allergic reaction. The best cause of action is to use a vacuum cleaner with HEPA filter on everything that might get into contact with your pets. A standard vacuum cleaner will pick up the extremets too but just blows it out the other end making things far worse.

Larger K-nex like parts for pre-K

I just discovered that the K-nex like building set I have isn't K-nex!  The pieces I have are larger and are made of a softer material.  They work well for children in the 2-5 yo range.  Would anyone know what these pieces are called?   The 1000 pieces of K-nex are going to have to wait a few years..... Thank you in advance.

PH BALANCED NO-RINSE FOAMING SOAP ANYONE??

HI. My mom is bed ridden and we have to give her baths in bed. We have tried several different foaming no-rinse soaps and have found on that works the best: Medline Remedy 4-in-1 Body Cleanser. It is good in so many ways, pH Balanced, Non-allergenic, leaves her skin soft, smells great...nice sort of mango-vanilla smell. Problem is, it's $10 + per bottle, depending on where we get it. Here is the product description: Remedy 4-in-1 Body Cleanser cleanses, moisturizes, provides mild protection against transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and nourishes skin in one step. Helps reduce odor. Optimizes shelf space and nursing time. Ready-to-use, no-rinse foam stays in place to prevent product spills, waste and patient discomfort. One bottle contains over 340 pumps of foam.Harsh soaps and surfactants strip skin of moisture and contribute to TEWL. Remedy 4-in-1 Cleansers have a phospholipid base that binds both water and nutrients to gently clean and condition the skin. Remedy cleansers contain ingredients derived from natural and organic oils that mimic the body's natural lipids. Remedy cleansers can also be used during showers in place of soaps. The phospholipids will gently cleanse the skin without stripping it from its natural oils.Olivamine is a blend of antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins and methylsulfonylmethane (MSM). These ingredients are all known to play a vital role in basic cellular construction and protection. Olivamine contains antioxidants like hydroxytyrosol, the most potent antioxidant known today (derived from olives). It also contains amino acids like L-proline, L-cysteine and glycine - three of the main building blocks of collagen. These components are also treated with photoacoustic resonance to help minimize the tendency for inflammation, and to ensure they can be rapidly accepted by the skin.No-rinse foam for head-to-toe cleansing and conditioning. Indicated for hair, body, perineal and peristomal areas.Remedy is a trademark of Medline Industries, Inc. UPC is: 0 80196 30616 2 CAN ANYONE COME UP WITH A LESS EXPENSIVE, HOME-MADE OPTION TO THIS? How to seal unused drain pipe?

The short version: I have an old PVC sewer drain pipe that comes up out of a concrete slab floor.  Under the floor, the other end of the pipe connects to other drain pipes in the house, so before I cover the area with more carpeting, I'd like to seal that pipe off permanently to avoid any possible leakage in the future.  I'd like to avoid disturbing the concrete floor, if possible.  I'd like to put some kind of plug in the pipe and glue it into place with common PVC primer and cement, but I don't know if there's any kind of plug made for this purpose. Any suggestions? The details: I've taken down a non-load-bearing wall in my house.  The wall used to carry pipes for water (coming down from the second floor above), natural gas (embedded in the concrete slab floor), and sewer (also embedded in the slab).  These were all used for a poorly-positioned laundry room.  I've easily sealed the copper pipes for the water and natural gas, but I'm left wondering what to do with this two-inch sewer drain pipe. At first, I thought of covering it with a PVC cap, but to do that, I would need to chip away part of the concrete floor far enough down so the cap wouldn't be above the floor surface.  I would also need to be careful not to break the pipe as I chipped away the concrete.  If I were successful with that and then glued a cap on at the right height, then I would need to fill the space around it with a small amount of concrete.  Besides not wanting to damage the pipe, I'm sure I'd make a real mess of the carpet nearby. Then, I thought, rather than gluing a cap over the *outside* of the pipe, maybe there's some kind of cap that I can glue on the *inside* of it istead.  However, I don't know of any such pipe fitting.  It seems that all the home improvement stores around here sell fittings that go on the outside of the pipe.  So I'm looking for creative ways to plug up the end of this pipe. The other end of this pipe connects to other sewer pipes in the house that are currently in use.  I thought of possibly pouring a cement-like substance into the pipe to seal it, but I can't guarantee that it wouldn't go into the rest of the system and cause a disastrous plug for the whole thing. PS:  Excuse the orientation of the photos I've attached to this posting.  They looked fine on my phone, but when I upload them to Instructables, the site insists on rotating them. PPS: I do plan to cut the PVC pipe off even with the floor just before sealing it.  I'll use my trusty Dremel Multi-Max for that.

Does anyone know of a splitter box of any sort that would split the signal from the output of a minidisc player? At present my band plays gigs with the use of a backing track with keyboards and bass on. Is there any way the Minidisc outputs could feed my onstage monitor and the P.A. mixer simultaneously? The small mixer that the MD goes into hasnt any aux channels or monitor sends with which to use. Thanks.

heat sensitive wall outlet

Does any one have or had plans for a wall plug outlet or an extension cord from a tool that would turn off if the temperature of the devise reached a preset degree.  i.e. your coffee machine operated normally but it caused the duplex plug to overheat and the circuit would shut down avoiding a possible fire condition.

Matching speakers to amplifier

I have purchased 2 Maxamp20 amplifiers (http://store.accusafe.nl/modules/versterkers/maxamp20-met-3-5mm-connector) and i am trying to match speakers to them, i've searched audio forums for information (that i mostly don't understand) and tried asking questions (that have been mostly ignored) and i think i've found appropriate speakers but i want to get a second opinion before i purchase stuff i might not be able to return. i don't have the space for and can't afford the weight requirements of a large enclosure but i want fairly high volume and wide dispersion so im looking at getting 2 of these PA horns (http://www.specotech.com/index.php/products/audio/item/542-spc40rp) to mount on top of a shallow down firing enclosure for 2 of these subs (http://store.accusafe.nl/onderdelen/luidsprekers/subwoofer/dayton-audio-sd215a-88-8-dvc-subwoofer-speaker). i know the subs work with that amplifier because they are used in Boominators (http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/class-d/104402-boominator-another-stab-ultimate-party-machine.html) but i have no idea about the horns. also assuming this setup is okay do i need some kind of filter or crossover (not sure of the difference) to split the sound safely between the midrange and the sub speakers?

Homemade electric nail file

Hey there to all you wonderful people! I have an odd proposal / suggestion / idea... I was wondering if anyone had ever considered this as an Instructables project by any (small) chance? Don't laugh TOO much, this is not something that would be considered a run-of-the-mill every-day kind of DIY by any means... Here's my ish: I'm not incredibly fantastic when it comes to personal grooming, doing the basics as quickly as possible so as to waste as little time getting ready for the day. However, me tooties are a point of some concern due to an out-of-the-ordinary dermal condition. As a result of this, I have to take special attention to moisturizing feet and toenail filing. Also, I suffered an accident when I was much younger that caused the nails on the big toe to grow skew. Long story short I've now been sitting on the floor for 40 minutes with a manual file and, while my one's and two's a looking smashing, I thought there MUST be a way of making my own electric nail file. I thought to try and convert a screwdriver bit for my electric screwdriver into a spherical file which I'm sure would literally save me HOURS and will do my knees a world of good - I've found myself kneeling in 1 position for a lot longer than nature intended. I am NOT the shining Instructables Star in the making by ANY stretch of the imagination but I do have some interesting theories about time travel (not really applicable here, but I wanted to try and sound less daaa - cos this isn't a 'Change The World' kinda project) In any event, I thought maybe someone who has a grasp of my concept and an understanding of how things worked may have a thought on how to accomplish this? Baring in mind that where I live, things like electric nail files are luxuries available only to a specific  social group & not an option for the general norm pavements specials such as I... I'm so interested to see if anyone could give me some help. You'd LITERALLY be saving my life (or at least adding about 10 - 15 years to it where I don't have to spend crouched over a small chair for a quarter of my day every 5 or 6 days) Stopped giggling yet? :) Tx guys, it's a dumb thing to ask, but this dumb thing has the potential to SIGNIFICANTLY change my life in a very practical way. Kind Regards and Loads of thanks! ps It ses to add images, but I think just for the sake of global sanity I'll refrain until I've found a working solution (or a pic of someone else's feet) :) Much love t'ya!

Troubleshooting Christmas Mini-Light Strings

I searched Instructables to be certain I am not covering something someone else has already done, but found nothing.  Here is an excellent article on troubleshooting a bad string of Christmas mini-lights. (I do not know the author and am not connected to him in any way.)  I know of three occurrences of non-working light strings from this year's celebrations. In the first case, the woman who owns the Christmas tree simply bought a new string of lights and hung the new lights over the old string attached at the factory to her synthetic tree. I did not see her tree and cannot say what the cause of the malfunction was. In the second occurrence we put up a synthetic tree with two strings of factory installed lights, one for the bottom half of the tree and one for the top half of the tree. The string on the top half worked some of the time, but then would go out. Typically one suspects a bad bulb. That is also the general suggestion made in the very fine article I linked above. However, that proved not to be the problem. Rather, the problem was the very cheap electrical plug. I cut the plug from the string so I could open it and determine exactly where and how it failed in order to satisfy my own curiosity. Installing a new male plug solved the problem. In the third case, my daughter had a string near the top of her tree that was "out," but not completely at the top. I had limited tools and resources, but plugging the bad string into a different molded female plug brought it back to life. The moral of the story is that while a bad bulb is a frequent source of problems, the molded male and female plugs on these inexpensive light strings are often held together only by a lick and a promise, and fail easily. Giving the molded plugs a hard look is much easier and faster than removing and testing bulb after bulb. The first photo shows an extension cord with molded plugs from three strings plugged into the extension cord. The second photo shows the bad male plug on our tree, and I am using my multi-meter to test for continuity between the brass plug blade and the load end of one of the tiny fuses inside the plug. That part tests "good." The other fuse tested "good," too. In the third photo I inserted a straight pin into the wire and tested for a circuit from the brass blades to the wire. Both sides failed this test.  A multi-meter can easily test what I needed to find this problem. I would have needed to strip away some insulation from the wire or stick a straight pin through the wire to obtain a reading with my multi-meter. But, by this time I had bought a hum tester with a high and a low range for checking different voltage ranges on an AC circuit. It led me to know the plug was the problem.

Mozzies and how to keep them outside....

Down here the winter was too short and not cold enough, meaning insect life is literally exploding in numbers already. The house I moved in has badly installed flyscreens on the doors and windows, most likely due to the fact that the house is moving up and down in several points... Anyway, due to the gaps everywhere I found myself with the problem that the mozzies covered my entire front and back door areas. With an unsupporting landlord not even allowing me to replace the bad flysreens with proper ones at my cost I was left with less invasive options to tackle the problem. Before you ask: No I am not even allowed to fix holes in the flyscreens covering the windows :( My next step was to check the local garden center for some natural solutions. Lemon grass seems to do the trick for the inside, the smell also keeps flies away really good. But I had to put the pots in the garden as the ongoing smell gives me headaches. It also did very little to prevent the mozzies from coming inside when I opened any outside door for a few moments. Only way out was to get rid of the mozzie population having daily meeting around my doors. At the local hardware store I found several "surface sprays" and they all stated to be very effective against cockroaches, spiders and other crawling insects - too bad I don't have a problem with them LOL After asking I was informed that those sprays do little to nothing for flying insects, including mozzies and that I would waste my money. During my next shopping trip I got desperate and grabbed a can of surface spray from Aldi. Was under 3 bucks, so I had nothing to loose compared to the 40-80 bucks for a canister of "the good stuff" from the hardware store. At the checkout an old lady asked if I moved into a new house with cockroaches when she saw the spray and I said that I only have a problem with mozzies. She recommended to eat more bananas ROFL Back home it was already too sunny at the front door for the mozzies to show up so I waited till the late afternoon and sure enough I found the area covered with them again. The spray annoyed them badly but I kept spraying all cracks, surfaces and also the gaps at the roof line. Kept checking for a while but could not see any real effect on the mozzies other than swarming around me and trying to suck my blood. Next morning I found the floor at the door covered by a carpet of dead mozzies! I don't mean a few, I am talking enough to take the brrom to clear them up :) Now for the past 5 days the body count is going down quite fast while my door stays free of mozzies. Still have them flying around in "normal" numbers but I can get in and out without a swarm of them following me. Since the product is plant based and considered to be without any side effects on humans or pets I will see how long it lasts and then just spray again - this three dollar can should last throughout the summer... You might wonder why I go through all these troubles... Long story short, I am quite allergic to the bites. Happened as a kid when during a warm summer night at a friends place I got so many bites that the doc gave up counting. He reached over 200 just by counting my head and face to the shoulders... Now I am allergic to the bites, the itch lasts over a week and thebite area swells up to the size of a 50 cent coin with blisters forming after 2 days. You might not get it hat bad but if you do suffer from the bites I found two remedies that help with the itch and reaction: a)  BBQ igniter (the manual push type without batteries)! They work like the expensive clickers you get at the pharmacy but last much longer - plus they require more force. The rounded tip is placed directly onto the bite and when you push the button in to "get shocked" two things happen. First the pressure forces the soliver that causes the reaction into deeper skin layers where there are less receptors for the itch. Secondly the high voltage breaks down certain parts of the soliver making it far less effective to cause harm. Downside is that you might like the shock in certain areas and that you should shock at least 10 to 15 times to get a real benefit from it. b)  Hydrogen Peroxide (3%) You put a drop of H2O2 directly onto the bite or for difficult areas use a soaked cotton bud. Rubbing it in with a cotton bud for a minute or two works best IMHO. You might see your skin turn white or feel a slight burn right where the bite is - that is normal and harmless. The hydrogen peroxide releases oxygen into the skin - this turns the skin white for short period of time. But the oxygen also breaks down the soliver and the byproducts of the body reaction to it. Works great for horse fly bites too. Downside here is that you should not overdo things and that you should test first how sensitive you are to the reaction. A good test is to apply it onto a small cut or scratch to clean it. If you tolerate that then won't even feel it on a mozzie bite. I hope some of this will help you through the summer ;)

Basic Assault Weapon *updated with inside pictures for building*

Maybe some of you saw my video on youtube. I decided I'd mod the gun a little and maybe think about posting it if you guys think it's post-worthy. And by post-worthy I mean would you build it? Anyways on to the details. This is a basic weapon that is mostly compact and pretty reliable. There are no big special features other than the magazine which is obviously removable and has an internal pusher, a roof, and it can be top loaded. With a quick change of pieces you could technically top load the magazine while it is in the gun though it may be a little tricky. The magazines slide right in and should stay put. I shaked it my hardest and it wouldn't fall out. Removing it is pretty simple. You just need to pop both sides individually. As you can see I ran low on pieces so I just used red rods for the stock. You can store an extra magazine in it like in the picture. Of course I put in a pin guide. The handle is average. I wasn't too concerned with it as people can mod it freely. The trigger was made to block farther back so that the gun wouldn't have to be a unit longer to get max power. Ranges with the rubber bands placed as shown were about 9 meters or 27 feet with the mag full. I suspect increased ranges as the magazine empties. It doesn't have a turret, bolt, or shells so I don't know if you consider that good enough or not.

Woodstove

I have built this woodstove for my tiny house. I had tight space limitations. I chose a used 20 gal+/- propane tank. I cut out a door and exhaust opening with a disc on my angle grinder. Helpful hint. I attached hinges befor making the last cut on the door. It lines up perfectly. I found a piece of 6" well casing for my stack. An old piece of sheet steel for the top, in which I cut a 4" hole for my flue. I am using the tank upsied down as I am using the original valve opening, which is 3/4" pipe thread for outside combustion air. I welded the tank onto a 15" used steel car wheel for a sturdy stand. I will not be burning wood only manufactured logs like from Tractor Supply and will be making used paper for making presed pulp logs. I am letting the High Heat paint fumes air off before I fire it up. I also have a CO and Smoke Detector plus a Fire Extinguisher. There is a dampner in the flue and a thru wall fixture. It is mostly airtight. I installed 1/8" flanges on in and outside of the door. Used  a black wrought iron gate latch for a closer and some brass machine screws for bling. lol If anyone does this make sure you know what the hell you are doing, if not don't try this at home.

How to make the best gun in the universe even better.

Sorry for the extremely braggy title, I just needed something to grab attention, because these mods are MANDATORY. I have made some mods to the bolt, ram and barrel that are required for my AR-4 v3 Picture 1- Ram mod.  Add these spacers in there.  This keeps the ram from breaking the bolt when you fire. Picture 2- Bolt mod.  I change the number of 1- slot connectors that hold the bolt from 2 to 3.  I also mod the ram so that the part that goes before the bolt is 1 orange connector, and 2 blue caps. Picture 3- 2 barrel mods.  There is a third mod, but I will go ahead and explain this first.  The top of the barrel is changed a little bit.  Note it.   The second barrel mod was actually made by makers of my AR-4 v3.  It required  me to remove the white connector from the front of the barrel.  This somehow increases the power to a staggering 45 feet with 1 rubberband, around 70 with 3 (doubled up), making this the most powerful bolt action gun ever posted. Picture 4- Bullet lock mod.  Sorry for the crappy picture, but it has too much shadow.  Anyways, where the new ram sticks out, you place the ball joint socket.  This also increases the power, and gives you the ability to point it down. With all the mods I made, you can load and fire the gun sideways.

Toilets - Or better: How do you use one?

Ok, although we might not want to admit it but everyone of us sooner or later has some bodily functions that we take care of in private. For most of us the main difference between toilets, apart from the looks, would be wether it has a flat bowl or just water where everything drops in. The first type is mostly common in Europe while the "let it splash" type is used everywhere else - except of the Asian region. Check the attached pics for reference please. Which brings me to point of how to use a toilet... For a nice number two the western world prefers to sit down, some might even grab the newspaper but that's another story LOL In Asia however this concept is totally unknown and considered to be filthy and dirty. Here the prefered method to get rid of a number two is to squat - basically just a hole in the ground or a channel filled with water. For all those still struggling with the concept have a look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7KBbjtan9Q I don't want to go into all details but if are living in a area with a great percentage of Asians you will often find public toilets and those in restrooms of your favourite restaurant in an usunsable condition. After all it is not easy to stand on a toilet seat (seems to be hard to fold it up) and let the number two find the right spot on the way down. So apart from cultural differences I do wonder about this: If western toilets are considered to be filthy and dirty compared to squat toilets, how do you consider them with footprints and the rest colored in a stinky brown? Could someone make me a nice, non-offensive comic like picture that explains the use of western toilets and that standing on the seat is definately not the right way? Would like to use it at my workplace (boss is fine with it as long as it is not offensive in any way).

Looking for Japanese Soaking Tub plans

I'm thinking about building a Japanese Soaking Tub when I remodel my bathroom this Spring. I have a general concept of how it should be built, and I'm thinking I'll probably go traditional and use cedar to build it. I'm looking to see if anyone has some good build plans for a soaking tub, specifically how to seal the tub so the water stays in the tub.  I tried uploading a picture to give you some idea, but it doesn't want to work, here's the link of the style of tub, first picture. source: http://www.homedit.com/deep-soaking-japanese-bathtubs-turn-bathroom-spa/

Homemade Vinyl Record Cutting

I've always loved recording my music onto computers or cassettes and it's always been a little dream of mine to put one or two of them onto a homemade vinyl record. Obviously this would be very lo-fi but it seems like it'd still be a fun project. Anyone know if this is possible or if they've done something similar? Way I would think it could be done is to reverse the wiring in side a record player into a microphone of some sort and replace the needle with a razor blade with a blank sheet of the certain type of vinyl?

How to fix the switch on a neon sign?

Hi everyone! I have one of those nice Heineken neon sign that i've found in a antique shop. I payed only 10$. The thing is, the guy told me there's a little problem with the switch... I was thinking that I could fix that. When I opened the plastic box and saw the switch I thought to myself '' how am I gonna fix that'' I bought a switch that you install directly on the wire, looks like the one we have on the wall to open the light in a room. (You know the same kind of switch that has a little 'wheel' that you turn to put on or off). I need your help dear Instructable comunity, what should I do, and how? Thanks a million times in advance!! Nick

Launched SS carts

Dear reader, I've seen some knex rollercoasters on YouTube in which a screaming serpent cart appears to be launched by Ripping Rocket boosters. Since I own both, I was wondering how this is done, because simply leading the SS cart through those boosters won't work. Thanks for reading. Kind regards, Kaj

would 4 speakers on two 2-channel amps require twice as much power as 2 speakers on one 2-channel amp?

Also how do i work out the recommended (capacity) volume of the enclosure for 2 or 4 speakers? would it being used outside require a larger enclosure than usual to adequately broadcast sound?

Oodammo Pistols Discussion

Well, I just have finals this week and then I'm done with school. Long story short, I got into classes at the college and they finish earlier than the high school does so I pretty much will be graduated but without a diploma for a couple weeks. Fun! Anyways, I'm not in the mood for making anything big. However, I did want to put this to rest if need be. Do we need another oodammo pistol? Let's just take a quick poll. What's everyone's favorite oodammo pistol and why? No, I don't need ego food so be honest. Next, what don't you like about your favorite? What could be improved with it? If I do find enough valid suggestions, I'll make a 4th oodassault pistol. If I find that it's mostly just a matter of preference between features (i.e. size/pieces/looks vs durability, clips vs magazines, etc.) then I'll leave it at that. Others will be welcome to leach off this thread and try their hand at one too as long as they announce that they are doing so.

Seeking feedback on a unique vacuum accessory that can hold a mini flashlight!

Hi there! I believe this is the best place for me to ask this question. I just wanted to get your feedback or opinion on this cleaning accessory we are currently developing, the “Flashlight-Holder Vacuum Cleaner Attachment”. This product is a first-of-its-kind vacuum cleaner accessory that holds a flashlight, to provide light directly at the point of use. Please see this 4 minute video to see what this accessory is all about: https://d2pq0u4uni88oo.cloudfront.ne...-h264_base.mp4 The accessory holds a flashlight, to provide a hands-free beam of light exactly where it is needed. As someone who is engaged with cleaning services/ housekeeping or homemaking, would you consider using this kind of accessory? Or would you stick to what you are using right now? Your feedback will be very much appreciated. If you want to know more about the product, just visit http://dupreehouse.com/ Thanks

Help: Opening/Cleaning a portable air conditioner

I don't think this is the right place for it but I'm desperate. I have a portable air conditioner (Whynter Arc-14s) and need to vacuum and remove mildew from the inside, especially the fan blades. Now, I did contact Whynter support (e-mail) and they were able to help me remove the screws with a PDF guide. This allowed me to remove the front. Unfortunately, the back case won't come off, even though I took out all screws I was directed to. They couldn't assist me anymore after that. Now I'm stuck, summer is ending and I never got to use it this year. So has anyone opened up a Whynter Arc-14s portable a/c?

My random bullpup model

So Dr. Richy posted his CAR which drew a little inspiration from this weapon that I posted on Red's wall in hopes he just might be able to turn it into a firing weapon. However, as I suspected, that's just not an easy task and I didn't expect it to happen. So I'm gonna just throw this out there and show anyone that didn't see it. It's made to be convincing, it could probably be turned into a real firearm. It's a bullpup designed to take 5.56 NATO rounds. I designed it to be somewhat ergonomic and compact. It has the front grip from...I don't even know how long that I used on my UMP. It's pretty simple, reasonably comfortable, and lets you quickly attach any front grip or bipod you can come up with. The muzzle was made from a new concept for a rounded barrel that could be used as a real K'nex barrel. This can also take a very cruddy and simple silencer attachment (which is actually just my Master Sword handle that I never wanted to disassemble). Then I added a basic rail on top that allows it to take airsoft or real rail accessories. It's not perfect, but you can get the accessories to grip into the grooves. I added a fake charging handle that is located in a decent, but not optimal position. This flows into a cheek rest of sorts that's rather close to the back of the gun so it can accommodate the charging handle pin. Your head is kinda cramped against your shoulder, but your face itself is comfortable aiming. And the front sight is detachable if you were to add a rail sight. I'm thinking I'll probably make a new one tonight for fun. It'll be shorter to be similar in size to a PDR. However, I might (not a definite) give it exchangeable fake barrels based on this one that allows it to lock in with a single pin. Secondly, I'm going to change the front to include an integrated folding forehandle that will also be comfortable to hold folded. Or so I hope. I'm also going to move the charging handle forward and make the roof one and the same with the rail to slim it down ever so slightly. This will also move the cheek rest forward to a more accurate position like on Dr. Richy's. Finally, I hope to add some nifty features but I'm not sure at all on these. One would be a bolt lock which probably wouldn't be too hard. It'd basically be like the charging handle is a firing pin and the bolt release would be a trigger, just mounted differently on the gun. And then the harder one would be to make a magazine release near the handle like on a PDR instead of the current one I use that makes you have to "strip" the magazine. On a real gun, this would be a great feature for making reloads a lot faster.
