Parkour Pain

I have been doing some jumps from high altitudes of about 10ft (running and jumping off). My question is when I land my innards start to hurt like my stomach and intestines. How bad is this for my health and will the feeling go away after time has passed and the organs become immune the shock?

ARGH NOOO!!!! Romance[Love.Lust] = Pain!!! {suffering.unhappiness} = : ( ...

As some of you may know, I've had a crush on a gal for quite awhile. For the past while I thought I had it good, she's been awful flirty as of late, and seemed to be dropping hints all over the place. So yesterday, I mustered the courage (and resources :p) to ask her out. Guess what? I was turned down flat. I was rejected. Scorned. Publicly humiliated (I did in front of a group of friends, FSM knows why...). Either it was adrenaline, or it was the FSM, but I didn't feel to bummed out. But now (last night, this morning) that I've been thinking about, I feel like the warm hand that stole my heart hath hurled it down and stomped upon it with an icy stiletto... WWWWAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! *runs to refrigerator and sobs*And the problem is, in all my misery and self pity, I think it's possible that I like her even more, *sigh* what is unattainable is what a guy seeks....WWWAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!! *runs back to refrigerator* All the world is muck and gloom... So now what? Gain her love? Forget and be miserable?

Another Teeth Forum

Hey, just saw there were alot of responses to the other forum and I'm having trouble finding anything that makes me feel better on the Web, so I figured I'd ask here. I had 1 wisdom tooth that had grown in properly and rotted, pull about 6 days ago. I'm still having "I need serious painkillers" pain. I'm pretty confident that its not dry socket. none of the pain is really coming from inside my mouth other then the side of my tounge. most of the pain is in my chin jaw line and up into my temple. I've had plenty of extractions and they all heal enough not to hurt after about three days. Am I gonna die?.....lol...... no but seriously..... is this normal?..... like maybe from him reefing on my jaw to lossen the tooth? or am I screwed and should go back to the dentist?

Your Most Painful Moments.

I was wondering with all the home crafted weapons what you would classify as the MOST painful moment in you life so far. When were you in the most pain of your life time, was it after being shot with a paint ball gun or when you stubbed you toe against that stupid door. Ohh and once you have remembered remember to give it a pain rating from 1 to 10, 1 being not too painful and 10 extremely painful. I'm sorry if it brings back bad memories but i was just interested. My most painful moment was when i was playing cricket we used to whittle out points to make the stumps then flick them in to the ground, one time i over judged it and it hit me hard on the shin I sat with an ice pack on it for about 2 hours and had a lump the size of an egg!

nerf gun airtech 2000 and 3000 mod!

Alright... so i hooked a soda bottle up to a nerf airtech 2000 (when i get the stuff for the 3000 i will do that one too) and so now i have a big resivoir and i have a way of hooking it up to a bike pump so i can pump it up to a reasonable pressure and run around and cause pain without tired arms. but the guns pump still works (and gets it up to about 40 psi after 2 minutes of pumping) you use a 4 way coupler WITH HOSE CLAMPS! and use tubing rated for pressure! you have a schrader valve (or similar) and plug the pump on the 4 way along with the out line. (this was done on a 2000, the 3000 may or may not work) DONT HOLD DOWN THE TRIGGER! if you do then much of the pressure will be lost. now you can shoot easily and not be found out by pumping noises) im sorry i dont have a diagram. so when your done... the soda bottle (2 litre is the best! it lasts longer), schader valve, output, and input from the onboard pump should all be on the 4 way coupler and be hose clamped (if not the hoses will fly off and youll hear a loud hiss and be angry) the 2 litre bottle can be consealed in your backpack or be heald under your armpit, glued or taped to the gun, whatever!

Scared of shots? Cough!

The Claim: Coughing Can Blunt the Pain of a Doctor’s Needle By ANAHAD O’CONNOR Published: January 25, 2010 THE FACTS Sometimes there are no words that can comfort a patient who fears an injection or the drawing of blood. But there may be one cheap and easy way to ease the needle’s sting. In the medical literature, it is known as the cough trick. Patients cough moderately just before a shot and then once during it. How this works is unclear. It could simply be a matter of distraction. Or, as a report in the journal BMJ pointed out, it may have something to do with a brief, cough-induced rise in blood pressure that reduces the perception of pain. Whatever the mechanism, studies have found intriguing evidence. Two were conducted in 2004, including one three-week study in which doctors measured variables like pain intensity, hand withdrawal and palm sweating as subjects had intravenous needles inserted in their hands — on one occasion while coughing, and on another with no coughing. Coughing, they found, reduced the pain. In another study, published this month in the journal Pediatrics, scientists at the Mayo Clinic tried the coughing trick on 68 children, ages 4 to 11, receiving immunizations. They found that it eased pain in Hispanic and white children, but not in black children — a finding they could not explain. And like any method, it has its obvious flaws: coughing too vigorously, for example, could cause doctors to miss their mark. THE BOTTOM LINE Studies suggest that a moderate cough during an injection may forestall pain. Pretty neat.  Might be a good trick to teach kids so they don't develop phobias.

Dog arthritis

A TABLE SPOON OF WHITE VINEGAR + A TABLE SPOON OF APPLE CIDAR OVER THEIR MEAL ONCE A DAY. It's worked on German Shepherds + Rottweilers and thru personal experience it worked on my Bull Terrier. My Bully would rip around the beach for a few hours having a ball, then she couldn't move for 2 or 3 days without pain. Try it, it worked for my 2 year old Bully and she was moving ok and pain free for her next 11 years. CHEAP and hopefully it will work for you. Cats and other animals i don't know.

Damaged disc(s) in the lower back - what to do and what not ;)

I got diagnosed with a damaged L5 and L6 disc in my lower back about 8 years ago and I thought writing about my experience might helps others facing the same problems. Keeping your back straight when lifting or moving heavy things was a thing I already learned and followed during my school times and as you might have guessed it helped to keep my back healthy - at the expense of my knees... But the knees are a different story, today I want to help you understand lower back problems caused by damaged or bulging discs and how this will affect your life. For me it began with a little shock. One day I got out of bed, wanted to grab something I dropped and got stuck half way up. Knowing that there are some nerves that can cause the same issue and that a simple injection will fix me I called a cab to be dragged laying down on the back seat to my GP. As you might have guessed his diagnosis was a bit worse than what I wanted to hear... Many painful hours and some scans later it was confirmed that my L5 and L6 disk have collapsed on one side and started to push on the nerves next to it. Funny side not that I never really checked was that my doc said not everyone has a L6 disk... Anyways, as with most first "accidents" involving your lower back the so called recovery was long and painful. Sure the painkillers help to numb the worst, the anti inflammatory stuff covers some pain too but actually I did not want the full pain free package deal. Pain is the bodies way to let you know something is wrong, so I kept the pain medication at a level where I got that information when making a wrong move... The first 6 months I was literally confined to my bed, the shower and the toilet. I tried to keep a position with the least amount of pain for as long as possible and for obvious reasons was not too happy that my body not only required food intake but also the disposal of the waste products - getting out of bed and onto the toilet meant experiencing huge amounts of pain every time. But after those 6 months I started to adjust, to the pain as well as what my limited body was now capable of in terms of movement. Needless to say that all this time of not doing anything really meant my scale started to scream tripple digets at me one day... Luckily around the same time my pain levels went to a level that allowed my to walk around 500-600 at slightly slower speeds than normal before the pain got too much. My doctor also got quite concerned about my blood work and body weight recommending to loose a lot if I every intent to get back to a more normal life. So I started to walk several times a day, no matter how bad the weather was, just a bit up and down the street. The distance got longer, the fitness a bit better and the pain levels a bit lower too. Using my old weight lifting belt to keep the back supported helped me a lot during these times, especially when driving or doing housework. During those times I was still on 6-8 panedine forte tablets (paracetamol and codein) plus 2-4 tablets of 20mg oxicontin and not happy about the last anyway. Despite the added levels of pain I started to reduce the level of oxicontin and started to exercise more. My focus was getting the core muscles stronger and to get better support for my back. Also started riding my bike again, although I had to replace it for a bigger model to allow me a more upright position with less stress on the lower back. The kilos started to tumble very slowly but I was already quite proud when I got bak to 90kg. :( Good thing was that I got motivation to continue as every kg I lost and every little bit more on distance I got out of my walks and rides without getting too painful also meant that my average pain level went down too. Two years after it all happened I got rid of the oxicontin completely and reached the 80kg mark. My doc was happy too, my blood work looking good but of course he still suggested to loose a few more kg. Being able to move around again also meant being able to work again and with that came more food, less exercise and a lot more stress. I did manage to hold my 80kg but after about 6 months or working I noticed my back problems started to limit me again. My back belt covered for me and I was able to keep going a while longer but in the end I got hit by another attack on my back. The diagnosis was not good at all as now on top of the pain goind through the back and leg I also hab numbness and a feeling like ants crawl over the leg and chew on it every few mm. As with most lower back "revenges" this one only needed strong pain killers for a few weeks until I was back to something more normal in terms of pain and movability. Sadly the ongoing side effects did not go away the way they did the first time. This meant especiall finding the right position to sleep with the least amount of pain was becoming a nightmare on it's own. Either you got pins and needles keeping you awake, you lost your feeling in the leg to the point where it becomes useless or the pain in the back is just stabbing you all the time. Starting some projects here on Instructables kept my mind busy and gave me some welcome distraction from the daily routine. Eventually I manged to find a job again that allowed me to have enough different movements with only a bit of lifting so things started get back to normal. My doc put me on some amitriptyline to help with the pain at night and although it took some time to get used to the stuff it really started to help after about two weeks. The job was only for a fixed term but it gave me back some confidence that not all is bad or lost. Life went on and I actually manged to get down to just 75kg and only used some painkillers once or twice a week if it was really bad. Then, a few weeks back I started to notice that the top of my foot and the outside of my leg felt different to touch, especially in the shower with some brush or rough sponge. Not being happy already I agreed to some new scans to check if the discs started to cause problems or if the nerves are just inflamed. You might have guessed already, the scan confirmed that my two discs desintegrated further putting more pressure on the already suffering nerves. With the "help" of some quite strong anti inflammatory stuff, cortisone and other meds my doc managed to get me back to "normal" but he also informed me that this won't last forever. The current outcome (without surgery but more on that later on) I have two choices to keep going: a ) I continue with pain killers and other meds to keep the problems at bay. b ) I limit myself to basically not doing anything involving the movemnt of my lower back, keep to a strict calory intake and hope for the best. The first option won't do me any good in the long run except liver, kidney and digestive problems. The second option will allow me some sort of a normal life at the expense of never finding a job to support me again. So once again we soldier on knowing that it will only make things worse as giving up and relying on social services is no option for me. Hoping that you might just had your first encounter with lower back injuries and pain I will give some advise on the things that helped my most so that you might not have to suffer as much I did and still do. So read on please... Diagnosed with a damaged or bulged disc in the lower back - what does it acutally mean? If you check all the available images of the human skelleton you will quickly notice one thing: Our lower back is not really straight and not designed to carry a lot weight when it is put on the wrong way or direction. Noone with a sane mind would use a support beam shaped like that but the human body adapted to this problem caused by changing from using all four limbs to walking on just two legs. The muscles and tendons in our back work in such a way that they support the fragile construction of discs and bones that keep us upright. Sadly modern life, personal decisions and only too often a busy work shedule prevent us from using our body the wa we should. Be it too much lifting, being far too short for your weight or simply laziness the factors causing our muscle to degrade are too many to count. But once you are in the worst pain you ever felt and your doc tells you that there are damaged discs you suddenly wish you had it all done differently years ago - trust me, I have been there and I have done it ;) Or it might be like in my case that a healthy and fit person just cracks one or more discs for no obvious reason. Either way it means you have to change your life to be able to keep going. Pain killers help to ignore the problem and pretend all is good but they should be used with great care as most are highly addictive and the long term side effects are no fun either. The one thing you must never forget is although being a life sentence it must not mean you will be crippled forever! What can I do once it happened to help the pain and my sanity? Nerve pain is one of the worst pains there is and there are only two more or less working medications to deal with it. The first meds are opiates to literally numb the pain but due to source of the pain very high levels are required until the body adapted to deal with the wrong pain information. The second group of meds that offer help and that are often used together with pain killers are old sty anti depressants like the try-cyclic (was that right?) amitriptyline. Back in the days they were not really good for the advertised job but one of the common side effects was how they worked on the pain centers of the brain. In much lower dosages as used to treat depressions these meds help the brain to deal with the pain caused by the damaged or pinched nerves. As a long term solution they should be prefered over opiates so that the strong pain killers are only taken when really needed. If you are anything like me than not getting enough sleep over weeks on end will take a toll on your mood. So being able to sleep at least a few hours in one go is a real thing to aim for unless you prefer to harm your body with pain killers. What is there to help with the pain so you can sleep? I know that you now already think you tried it all and that nothing good comes out of here but keep reading as you might be surprised... The first thing that jumps into mind when it comes to sleeping is a bed - be it you by yourself or with a partner. And here also is the first point to improve! In many countries a bed for two persons has one bad feature: A single mattress! Any movement from the person next to you is transfered more or less onto your body - you don't want that! So if you own a big bid that you share with someone think about investing into a bed with seperated matresses and support frames. That brings us to the mattress itself. A lot of people think being soft and flexible is a prefered thing, not so much if you have back problems. You want enough support to keep the back straight without everything feeling like you sleep on wooden floorboards. Keep in mind though that when changing from soft matress to something much firmer you will need to adjust. Really the best option is to seek professional advise in a bedding studio or similar. And no, you don't have to go to the most expensive place to buy a mattress, you just try them out, get expert advise and use that new knowledge to find a suitable mattress to fit the budget. With no offence meant: If you are over the normal weight you really want to loose the excess and that means selecting a new matrress on your weight goal and not on your current weight! It is also good to have adjustable supports under the mattress itself, this way you choose a thinner and bit softer mattress but still get the firmness your back requires - again seeking proffessional advise on the right combinations is highly recommended here! Ok, your bed is sorted but still there is that nagging pain in certain positions or the tingling in your leg preventing you to go to sleep. Believe it or not but what you do before you go to bed affects how you feel when you hit the sack. So sitting like a bag full of water in front of your TV until just manage to crawl into bed won't do you any good. Same for having your dinner and hour or two before bedtime... What does help is to move your body and to burn a few kalories! If it helps you use a weight lifting belt but just a walk around the block with a little bit of bending and flexing will get the tension out of muscles. A nice partner giving you a proper massage might help too but I doubt you will get one every night ;) And before you start to complain: Yes, I know there are times where simply can't do any exersise as you will be happy to make it to the toilet or to make some dinner. For those times and especially during times of experiencing higher than normal pain level ther is something you can do to ease the pain. Some doctors will tell you but a lot of them wont: Cold actually helps to numb the pain and the symptoms like tingling, pins and needles or the constant stabbing when you made a slightly wrong move. But you need to apply the cold in the right way to get the benefit! The key here is timing. Using real ice in a suitable wrapper, so no vegetables or meat, you apply the cold where the damage is - not where the pain is! You want to cool down the area around the damaged discs for about 5 to max 10 minutes. Put the icepack back and repeat every hour! Nothing will happen after the first two or three round but then you will notice improvement - how much depends on the individual and extend of the damage of course. When I have bad days I usually start around mid-day and keep going every hour until either the pain is gone or it is time to drag myself to bed. The worst you can do is o apply heat! A warm (not hot!) bath can help to ease some muscular tension but hot packs or heat lamps will make your pain get worse quickly. Just imagine and inflammation somehwere else, the area is already hot and painful so you really don't want to add more heat, do you? ;) What can be done to keep mobile and improve? As said earlier the key is support for the damaged areas and of course a limitation in movements that put additional stress on the damaged dics - this includes weight, be it from your own body in terms of excess fat or simply be lifting things! You will have times of no pain and where you think you are 20 years younger again but never use that as an excuse to think your discs have improved! Once damaged they stay damaged and everything putting more stress on you dsic(s) will make things worse. A friend of mine loves to play golf - if you have back problems you want to find a different hobby! Coming from three digits I can tell you without being offensive in any way that being fat means having problems that you don't want to add to your list caused by a bad back! So like it or not you really need to loose all the excess you can find wobbling around your body! For me every single kg I lost was a step forward to being more fit and being able to more things for longer before my pain got too much. And no, there is no excuse for keeping those kilos if are able to leave the bed for more than a few hours. Turst me, you will feel better, need far less medication and like yourself much better once the benfits of less weight kick in! Exercise is the key to getting your life back to a more or less normal level! If you are a "first offender" than you have a good chance that a change of habbit and maybe job will make sure it stays a single incident and that you can have a pain free life after the initial recovery! Getting a higher core strenght and overall fitness level helps your body to heal but most importantly gives you the option to gain muscles where needed to support your back. You might think there is nothing you can do if you are in pain and can't really move anyway but if you do then you are wrong. I am not a personal trainer but I found a lot of ways to use my muscles without using my back for it... There is enough info on the web for exercise methods without any training gear and if you think "really hard" you might notice you can use a lot of positions to exercise your arms and legs without stressing you back ;) And even for the back you can do good without damage: If you lay flat on your belly you just slightly lift your arms and legs off the ground - this will need the support of the muscles in lower back! No need to actuall lift anything high, just enough to only slightly bend your back up - you might not even notice any bending at all. What you don't want is exercise like running, jogging or even contact sports, really nothing that might force your back to move more than what is possible without stressing your discs... Better fitness and more strenght means you will get better flexibility and movablity but never let that fool you into thinking the damage is gone! I can not stress enough than even if you don't need medication and feel fine a single wrong move can make all null and void! What are the options if despite loosing weight and excercise my pain is not going away or syptoms get worse? Well, we can ignore it, we can hope it all goes away but the sad reality for most is that sooner or later you reach the point where the damage is too much too handle. The first one to tell you that your lower back is now due for a pit stop is your foot. The pain might be more than what you ever experienced the pins and needles might drive you mad but as long as it just that you are fine, really :( For me it was during some light gradening when I got my "first hit" so to say. I brushed it off thinking I tripped over something that got kicked away while I struggled to keep my balance. A few days later I noticed that I had to put some extra efford to prevent my toes from scraping the floor while walking. It was there when I also realised that most of the feeling on top of my foot was gone. Same story for the outside of my calf by the way... For me, thanks to a non working medical system and no private health cover the story ends here... Since you might have more luck: Modern medicine has gone a long way when it comes to minimal invasive operations and they are the key to performing operations that otherwise would be impossible or require months of recovery. For the "treatment" of damaged discs in the lowest part of the spinal area the old conventional treatment was to fuse the bones together using some steel or titanium rods. To give the patient relief the dmaged disc was more or less mutilated to free the damaged nerve(s). Several weeks of bed rest and great loss in movement was the price to pay for less pain. Today we are much further and can use micro instruments to perform operations deemed impossible only a few years ago. One of the operations with the greatest and fastest recovery rates is actually quite smart if you think about it: A small portion of bone is removed to give more room for the nerve and to aid in the healing - without fusing the bones! The next step is remove the part of the disc that is bulging out - without removing the strong support layers around it, only the mashed up bits are taken away. The patient is literally pain free ( from the back pain) right after the operation. Healing takes about 2-3 weeks but by then even the pain from the cut bones will be gone. Some health insurers see these operations as a means to get a person back to work and into a normal life, so they support it. Others use simple math and decide pain killers are cheaper... In any case you should seek professional advice from your doc and health care provider before it is too late! Diagnosed and operated early can mean you get the option to have an almost normal life again, or at least a few years of being able to enjoy life much more than before the operation. There are of course risks involved and an opration might not be an option for every case but knowing your options and what form of treatment might be available for you can be reall life changing... Ok, but what's the worst that can happen to me if a simple operation is no longer an option? One of the first things you will notice after loosing control and feeling for your foot is a more or less contant need to go the toilet. Despite having an empty bladder or just using the toilet minutes ago you can develop the feeling that you really must go the toilet again. Sadly this is only the beginning... If things get worse you can loose control over your bladder and bowel. Simply put it means you no longer control the muscular tension required to keep you vital openings closed when required. Usually at this point your doctor will recommend to operate one way or the other. For you, if affected, this means you have to decide between the risk of an operation that might only last for a few months or years or wearing adult nappies... If you already had one or more operation or the damage to the disc(s) is too severe it can mean that there is no other option but to fuse the bones into place to prevent further damage and allow for some healing. But trust me, for your doc to even consider an operation you need to loose all the weight you can! What are my limitations after having my back bones fused together? Well, as it reads you will be fused together, meaning you level of movement will be severly limited. It also means you beep all the time at the airport security or when entering a court or other place with metal detectors - but that is the least of the worries I guess... The main problem after such operations is getting back to a life as normal as possible. You get a lot of help in rehab and will learn what you can and can't do, plus of course how to keep you fit despite these limits. Some people cope really good with the new limitations but others struggle a lot. This especially true if before the person was really active and doing a lot in terms of sport and outdoor activities. Learning to adapt to the changes allows you have many more years without too much pain or limitations. Sure, Golf is out of the question, playing soccer or riding a normal bike too but life goes on and being a part of it is always better than just looking at it through your bedroom window ;) In any case giving up should not be an option for you! No matter how bad it looks when the pain is too much, there are always more good days than bad days ahead of you! Go ahead, share your experience with back pain, what you do keep going and handle the pain. Share you information about what treatments helped you the most and share how you recovered to where you are now. Be an inspiration for those facing what we already went through! Real back pain based on nerve damage will only be understood by someone who experienced it - what did you do to make the people around you understand it? Whatever helped you might help someone wha just started to learn how to deal with damaged discs and back pain, so sharing is caring! ;)

I just broke my toe.

I had completely forgotten how bad this hurts. I can't even stand at this point and had to call in to work. :( I was just about to go out and ride my bike for a while, too. What a disappointing way to start the day. Now I get to spend the rest of it in varying degrees of pain! Even moving my foot unleashes pain like I have not felt in years. Anyone have any home remedies to recommend? I know when it happened last time I just got my toes taped and that was it. I'm not sure I can even get to the doctor at this point. :P I considered posting a picture of it but that's gross. So here's a picture of Chester. He's obviously reacting to my problem.

Rockband DLC Review #1 - Metallica Pack

I would like to review the Metallica song pack for Rockband. You can get these songs from your console's store. Please note I play these on EXPERT ...And Justice For AllThis song = SUPER FUN! It can get you a good about 400,000 points if you play good. Okay, first there is a guitar intro, drums come in, another guitar part, then the drums come in... after that part, there is a very annoying beat using ALL of the drums. It's not hard, it just hurts soooo bad.Anyway, I will rate qualities out of 5 stars:Pain Rating : 5/5Fun Rating : 4/5Length Rating 4/5*Difficulty Rating 3/5 (but fun)To be able to get through the painful part, you might want to use a warmup setlist. Try this:Are You Gonna Be My Girl?(Please Don't) Fear the ReaperCherub RockNext to YouBrainpowerRide the LightningThis song is kinda meh/kinda AWESOME. I mean, it's heavy, fun, but some parts a just really fast.During Verse 3, there is a double bass hit... the fastest/hardest double bass hit in the history of Rockband.Pain:2Fun:4Length:5 - not too long not too shortDifficulty: 5 - enough fun partsBlackenedWhen I first tried this I was like "Oh... My... GOD!!!!". But when I went into practice mode I realized it was an easy beat, but played 2 times faster. It is kind of like the main beat of "Are You Gonna Be My Girl?", but at least 2.5 times faster. Warmup before this song! =Pain: 5Fun: 5Length: 5Difficulty: 5Is this pack reccomendable? YES!! It's main component are these things, ICU or  Inventory Control Unit, they keep merchandise at the front of the racks. Here is the link click me or you can pick them up off the floor in stores. Best Use of Autotune

By now everyone that listens to music has probably heard (or heard of) autotune. It's been used for years to polish up pitchy vocals. Now it's more recognizable for being used on a totally different level. Autotune is the effect that T-Pain, Hellogoodbye (and by now, way to many others) use. At this point most people agree that it's way over used and just plain annoying. I have a poll to take. What song do you think actually uses it well? What's your vote for the Best Use of Autotune in a song?Mine is Woods, by Bon Iver.

Who's afraid to die?

Ok, This is not really a theological question. It came to mind while thinking of global warming, nuclear holocaust and the Large Hadron Collider. Are you afraid to die? I can only speak from a Christian perspective when I say, "No, of course not!" But I would expect atheists to feel the same way. If there's nothing to look forward to, then there's nothing to dread either. I am afraid of pain, suffering, misery, and the difficulty felt by those left behind, but death itself doesn't really concern me at all. How do the rest of you feel about death?

need low- tech medication taken/counting device, multiple strands , like a ranger klic bead counter

I have tried many of the sync programs including telephone call in reqall syncing with evernote. i may have to give that i try again, but there are times i don't have my phone /itouch within arms reach, I also have had problems where the syncing in evernote seems off and i need to keep a better count of pain meds,One is an extremely powerful very fast acting buccal tablet.. 5 to 15 minutes for breakthrough pain. Due to the change in pain daily and sometimes extreme breakthrough pain, my cognitive mind is shot and i am still trying y best to keep my daily count accurate, and counting helps me try and lower it by changing my activities. My ability to focus and write has gone downhill.. i have one med i may take 3 times a day at 10mg, or many times try and break it up to more frequent times but same dose, rather than 10mg(2 tabs) at one time i may take 5 and 3 hours later take the other 5 mg, i do this to avoid the side effects of the other meds, so i don't get as sleepy ,lethargic, i have another med i take usually 4 times a day, but sometimes 6 times and difference lucky 3 times.. so i need a 3 to 6 string. Another med i take usually 3 times sometimes 4, and may also break them in half it avoid the sleepiness,, that would be a 3 to 5 beads. i also have another that i may take 1 a day or 8 a day, that is the one that ruins my memory, so lately only taken before sleep, since 30 minutes after taken it , i will forget, and have done things like put the bottle in different places or turned it upside down, but doesn't help wherein i am out. Needless to say mu cognitive mind is very bad. i have plenty of leather and different beads so i have the supplies. i cant figure out how to do it, and since i have million things to do, 2 years behind schedule with a lot of medical procedures that take hours to do. plus need to figure out how to modify equipment so it works better for me. I cant focus on how to make this simple Aztec/Inca counter . I know it is simple, which kills me to ask, but i hate waking up dead. Which has almost happened too many times., i have to get ready for doctors so excuse any grammar errors please. thanks in advance , i lose my pens and papers all the time so that method became unreliable. i figure beads that i can snap on my belt loop would be the best fix.. A bead counter for one strand and i should be able to figure out the rest. i hope

Semi-Auto Revolver Is Finally Posted

Well, now I am out of work I'm finally posting it despite its faults (which I'm sure someone can fix). So I should get it posted this week all being well. It fires oodammo, white and blue rods, the range I have not tested as it varies on the bullet locks (which are worn on mine) but it is probably only around 20 feet. The trigger pull is heavy and occasionally painful if you follow through, but who cares it's freakin' semi-auto!! :D. E VOILA!  https://www.instructables.com/id/Knex-Semi-Auto-Revolver/

Stairs that double as dressers

Here are some plans for modifying your stairs so that each step can also hold a drawer for extra storage of all your stuff. The things you put inside would have to be of the occasional-to-rare use since these look like a pain to have to deal with on a regular basis. Other concerns are just how well the heat will be kept above or below and if they can be spring loaded so you don't step into an open drawer on the way down the stairs and brain yourself on the landing. Oh yeah, the risers that get removed are often providing structural support for the step above so be aware of that as well. But if you can pull it off safely, it's a neat trick. link

How do I fix the earbuds that came with my ipod?

I've used the earbuds that came with my iPod since the summer, and I like them. Recently the plastic/rubbery border on the edge came off, and so did the mesh that made it bearable to listen to, in one of them (the right one, if you care). Now what's exposed has sharp edges on the disc and is painful to listen to. And I'm not just talking about the Nickelback song my cousin gave me. Is there a way to substitute this with a common household object, or something I can pick up for free?

Will pseudo-surgery hurt if I'm asleep? Will I wake up in the process? *UPDATE* The surgery was a success! I added pics, come take a look!

So, tonight my parents are gonna remove a piece of glass that's been lodged in my foot for four years. How I got that piece of glass stuck in there was because I kicked open a glass bookshelf four years ago, when I'm still at the age of ten. I managed to live with it, but just now the piece of glass suddenly emerged from my skin. I tried removing it, but dang that was painful. So my parents decided to remove it when I'm asleep. Now, the question is, will it hurt at all? Will I wake up from the shock? Thanks in advance for answering.*UPDATE* The operation was a success! I added pics, come take a look! Thanks again for those who have helped me out by commenting and giving me advice!

favorite music artists/bands?

Ok, i just want to do a bit of a survey here, ill just start with my favesfavorite music band:shop boyz- their song "party like a rock star" was awesome, its part one of my theme song. their remix is cool, and is my second part.............favorite music solo artist:i would declare this a tie between Chris Brown and Soulja boy. Chris brown's "kiss-kiss" was tight, especially on the t-pain solo part, his other song was good too...........Soulja boy made the tight song "soulja boy tellem". He also made a little spin- off of the song, which is the song "soulja boy with soulja girl". and his last one "YA!", i liked that one, it expressed his real feelings as a celebrity perfectly........................ oh, and DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE DANCE....................so what is your favorite song artist?

Wires near a desk

I have a desk near my bed with the power strip on the other side of the desk. There's also my keyboard on the desk, so I have no problems in making the wires of my PC, phone, MP3 and 3DS chargers pass behind it so that they are hidden from view. I generally place my PC on the back of the keyboard and charge it, then everything else on top of either it or the keyboard. However, the things on the keyboard are quite ugly to the eye, while on the PC they clog. Also, it's always a pain to take the wire of the right charger (expecially in the dark), given that they are longer than the length of the desk, and if I roll them up they take up too much space. I was thinking of doing something to place those things on the side of the desk and fix the cables there. The problem is, I don't want to drill holes or anything like that, so I'm gonna stick with physics-fixed stuff or tape. What could I do that wouldn't be too bad to the eye?

is this poetry?

I wanted to know if this is poetry or not. God save me Save my life, Or let me die Let me feel the warm embrace of your arms Let me know you are their Take away my pain Take away my sorrow Let me find happiness Let me find peace Give me the strength to live on, To fight and overcome my burden Let me learn, To let go Let me find some good in this world, So I may be happy You are my lord, Christ is my savior Lend me your strength, For now I need you now more than ever In these times of sorrow, I hold out my hand for you I can only hope you will reach out to me If not live in peace, then let me stand by your side, In the land of the heavens Show me the light of happiness, So I may continue to live Lend me your strength, Let me learn, Let me be at peace By: Woatspers

Something quite odd happened...

Ok so I had some trouble sleeping the other night, in fact I had an awful lot of trouble and ended up not sleeping for for near enough 48 hours, not unusual for me considering all the stuff happening but read on... I had sprained or stretched almost every muscle in my upper body before this happened and it had been hurting like hoohah just to move, I sit up reading etc for several hours and then descend to start the monrings activities and I noticed that all of a sudden everything has healed, even the massive pain in my shoulder from a fight during which my arm got twisted to almost dislocation... Any theories on why this might have happened, the only thing I can think of is the fact that by being awake and not moving too much it was like sleep as far as healing goes but my metabolism was higher since I wasn't sleeping... Does that sound plausible?

Stray Cats Strut

Sad to say, a homeowner in the neighborhood takes no care of her cats and, of course, we had a bumper crop of strays for a while until nature and cars took care of most of them.  Two or three full-grown cats from the original litters are now quite healthy and roam our neighborhood freely.  As I have two indoor/outdoor cats, the "Wilds" have decided to take our yard as their own and you all know how cats mark their territory.  Every corner of our house, planters, and bbq has been sprayed as the battle for territory continues.  They're quite bold; I ran into one in our garage!  I'd like an effective, safe, non-painful (and entertaining, if possible) way to discourage them from coming into our yard and/or what I can spray over their spray to  nullify their scent.  (Baking soda and water mix, etc.)  I'm not home during the day to "catch" them in the act, I need something long-acting.  Thanks!

Ever been hit?

By a car? Besides when I've managed to run over myself, all of the times that I've been hit have been at intersections, obeying the lights. I got hit by a 50cc scooter once, too. That was less painful than hilarious. I think I got hurt less than the gal on the scooter. I had to help her pick it up and get it started again...I cross busy 4-lane streets in the middle of the block, rather than the light, for precisely that reason. Every time I've tried crossing Federal at the light, I've been hit or nearly hit by some cholo in a junker of a lowrider. Crossing the same street in the middle of the block, I've only had once close call, and that was my English teacher trying to be funny and just buzzing me.One of my friends got laid out in the crosswalk by someone who jumped the light a few miles from our school. She was in a bad way for a while, with multiple compound fractures. How about you? Ever been hit? How do you handle traffic and crossing?

I need help dealing with two bullies at my school......

Heya guys, I desperately need help with two bullies at my school. They ain't strong or anything, but they're good with words. Their names are Jocco and Lucas. And lemme tell you, they are such a pain in my arse. Their targets are usually the new kids, like me and my friend, Danny I know it's just best to just ignore them, don't sink to their level and all that, but when they made my friend cry in more then one occasion, that's going too far. Their jokes are mostly sexual and racist, calling me and Danny gay just for being friends, saying that I have a vagina, and even going so far as to say he f'ed my mother. And his racist jokes are usually aimed at Danny, due to him coming from Czech Republic. I need help, and fast. P.S: Not trying to act like a junior gangsta or anything, but please don't tell me to report this to the teacher or something, because if I do, my popularity will drop faster than I can say Barrack Obama. Thanks in advance.

Insulating home window tint for cheap?

Winter is coming like they say on the wall...For me it means I need to find some option to increase the insulation rating of these old windows.3mm thick glass in not really fully sealing sliding frames is a pain. For my last place I had the permission to put proper foil on the windows at my costs.I guesstimated what I need and just ordered the required amount on a roll. That was a few years back though and now prices exploded.Last time I had to pay around $3 AU per meter, now the same material is quoted at $14.95 AU per meter :(My windows go from floor to ceiling and at these prices covering them would cost me more than a months rent.I am sure insulating window tint is available outside AU as well.Does anyone know any sources with half decent prices and low shipping costs?Found one supplier in the US willing to ship to AU but was quoted over $100US for the shipping of one roll (120m).Means all up I would be looking at still a bit over $600US plus postage and there must be cheaper options :(

What is a good way to make a 3d game? Answered

I have the skill to be able to make 3d models  and scenes, create a storyline and do texturing, but what is a easy / free / cheap method to make a decent game? i was thinking about a first person shooter type game, but all of the FPS game makers out there that i have tried didn't give me enough freedom to make it the way i wanted to. i have listed the ones i have tried and the reasons i didn't like them: -Sauerbraten-Too hardware reliant, runs very slow on a good pc-cant import my own models -Silent Walk-bad method of level creation, can only make 'rough' looking levels -Retribution Engine-Wont run on newer pcs (maybe just needs a nvidia card not ati?) -3drad- need to pay to use it, doesn't exactly run nicely, and importing new enviroments is a pain -Fps creator free-very buggy, doesn't run on many computers so what is a good way to make a 3d game? I am looking at microsoft XNA, but what else? (just not flash or macromedia) Thanks in advance, z247

I hate April Fool .......

.I just wanted to say it : I hate April Fool ...............I'm perfectly aware that when it's about humour and jokes, I can be a real retarded kid or a real little rascal (sometimes both at the same time)...For instance, just to give you a sample, when I wrote "I hate April Fool", the "funny hemisphere" of my brain immediately computed a risky (and probably stupid and immature) pun :"I hate April Fool ........ 'cause this girl is a real pain !"Well ...... and paradoxically, despite I find many April Fool jokes funny, I hate this day.Why ?Because :1) every little "unexpected" (and plausible) information seems suspicious.2) some extremely serious persons (teammates or superior) tries to be cool only this day, and become ridiculously serious again the day after ......... and paradoxically, their April Fool sense of humour is as low as their seriousness is high the rest of the year (this is a great source of disappointment to see how stupid can be someone you respected for his/her intelligence).3) I don't remember #3 .... who really care about it anyway ???Voila ...That was my April Fool rant.Wow ! I feel better know !=o]

MGS5's iDroid - Can it be Built with Open Source Tech?

I can't get enough of Metal Gear Solid 5! It definitely deserves the 10/10 scores its received! But as cool as it would be to have a giant robot or even a Walker Gear that you and/or your enemies can pilot, I think the coolest thing to have from the game would be the "iDroid". If you havent played "The Phantom Pain" or "Ground Zeroes", the iDroid is a device Snake uses for multiple purposes. Some include: sending radio trasmissions and calling in supply drops or helicopters between the iDroid's location and Mother Base, Displaying a topographical satellite view of the area Snake is in, Organizing Mother Base staff, resources, R&D; projects, and playing music from cassette tapes found while on missions, Just to name a few. (bold font is to differentiate the uses) So is it possible to build a similar device using the open source technology of today? (minus the use of cassette tapes and a 2D holographic projection screen) I'm pretty confident that it can be done, but what do you guys think? (btw i also have the same topic in the Tech section, cuz i figured that would fit well probably)

Gigantic Scrabble

Scrabble is an obsession and I can completely understand why a couple would show so much love for the game that they would make an absolutely huge waterproof version for their backyard. Yup, it's lawn Scrabble and there's nothing wrong with that.He fashioned the board from pavers laid in a bed of sand — 225 of them, to be exact. He installed them all in one day and had the back pain to prove it.Jane Crane painted the bonus square in the proper colors and made letter tiles from craft-store wood plaques. She took apart shelves and reconfigured the pieces to make tile racks, and pavers and tiles were sealed to prevent water damage. Now Scrabble games at the Crane house are a physical as well as mental pursuit. The players have to get out of their seats to place their tiles on the board and pick new ones from the selection spread out face down in the grass. They haven't faced many challenges, other than having to light patio torches when darkness falls or dealing with the few times their dog, Maggie, has run across the game board. If it rains, they just take the game inside — on a regulation Scrabble board, that is.But you know, Jane Crane said, it's not as much fun. Link via Neatorama

I had one of the most amazing experiences today on my way to work.......

I decided to walk to work (it is about 7 - 8 city blocks {sorry I know that doesn't help those that live outside the USA, um, about a 1/4 mile?} long walk). This was the first time I had walked to work since my surgery on June 9th (for those that do not know, it was a double bypass). Before the operation, I would sometimes get a late start and would push it a wee bit to get there on time, and end up huffing and puffing (many times having to slow down because of it and some pain) before I got to work. Today, I started out feeling so good, I pressed it pretty hard to get there in record time. I was barely breathing any heavier then I had when I started, by the time I got to work. I can not say enough good about the therapy I received and and the exercise I continue to do to keep this wonderful state of being going. I was literally amazed ! I was also glad that, on Oct. 4th, I was able to give back a little to the therapy and research facility by going on their 4 mile walk. Not to brag, but I was able to raise about $355 dollars for the cause. My spirits are peaked right about now :-) AHA site

Full Auto K'nex Gun Idea (Seriously)

To anybody interested in creating a fully automatic k'nex gun: Take a simple method of propulsion: splodies grenades or something of the like. Not a complicated ram-rod mechanism or anything like that. Find a way to make them a bit smaller and more stable (splodies are very unstable) via some sort modification. Then find a way to stack them, one by one, in a magazine. Find a way to release one end while using the other as a launching point inside the chamber of the weapon. Once the first end is fired, the second end is pushed up and out of the right side of the gun, mimicking shell ejection on automatic weapons. After the shell is ejected, the next piece of ammunition is fired and ejected, and so on. If anybody can figure out how to create this mechanism AND find a way to control it via a trigger, they will have created the first magazine fed, shell ejecting, fully automatic knex gun. And to whoever claims that it wouldn't be considered fully automatic, think again. Loading the gun would be a painful process, yes. But it would be fully automatic, because a fully automatic weapon fires continuously while the trigger is pulled, no matter the circumstances. And with the option of removable magazines, the possibility is certainly there. If anybody can actually succeed in this idea, all I ask is that you post it so we can build it as well.

New Knex Car 2

I know how to make a car that has two mini block trigger gun on the top that shoot off while driving on its own. With the use of a non strechy string. Lets say you have about 16 in. of string. And you put the two guns in the back of your car.You can wrap one end of the string to the block trigger gun's trigger(that sounds wierd). and the other end of the string to the back rod that has the back wheels. When it starts to go the string will begin to wrap around the back rod until all the string has been used. The string begins to get tight. For the car to go any further its gotta pull down on that string, so it pulls it down and the guns fire. DISAVANTAGES: 1. Right after it fires the car cant travel any further. 2. Probobly a pain in the butt to reset. 3. Not sure if it fires that far. 4. I havnt even finished it yet, so im not sure if it even works. ADVANTAGES: 1. There hasnt been any thing like this posted before. 2. It can have up to like a lot of guns. Thank you for reading this forum. I hope you understand. I dont have any pics for 2 reasons: 1. Im on vacation. 2. Its not finished yet. If I have any mispellings please tell me and I will fix them.

Just 24 more hours..

And this week is over.. I'm about to whine about life, so back out now if you like. What a hell of a week, I started going to UCF monday. Now, admittedly, I'm happy about that, even though it's terribly stressful. But that's not the problem, really. No, would you believe that monday I bit into a brownie at work and cracked a molar on a nut? So my first day of school was accompanied by horrible pain. Followed by a dental crown on tuesday. Yeah that's not that bad, so I'll add in that my wife's truck needed a new differential on thursday (somewhat more expensive than a calculus book). And today? The washing machine broke. Spent three hours tearing it down, it's a goner. Leaking pump, with horrible grinding noise, broken balance strut, and no power to the motor. Only six years old too. And worst of all i didn't win the explicative deleted bike. That's an almost $2500 outlay this week for broken things.. Oh yeah one more really irritating thing, I finished up my A.A. and received my diploma this week, in a big flat envelope stamped all over "Do not bend", which the mailman folded in half and stuffed in the mailbox. I'll probably read this in the morning and decide I'm a self absorbed SOB and delete it. ;-)
