Bungie Bag O' Swag

Hey guys, So, if you're as big a fan of Halo as me, you'd find that Bungie has a special Bag O' Swag on sale, for their 20th anniversary, and leaving Halo. They have anything from a Tshirt to a Zune to signed games to high-quality figures. There are only 777 in existence. AND I FRIGGEN GOT ONE! OH YEAH! What was the most interesting thing, though, was that people were staying up all day and night, trying to get one, and they didn't come close. I managed to get one by sitting at the computer for TWO AND A HALF HOURS, and my dad's bank account just got billed(also, Amazon, says it's being "processed for shipment") So, did anyone else get one?

what are the chemicals used in fart bags? Answered

I have been looking on the net for what ingredients go into fart bags, which are these fart bombs with powder in them and a liquid inside a small packet, which you squish , then they react to produce hydrogen sulfide and then the bag pops and a rotton egg smell fills the area. i realy want to know what it is that goes into those because i want to make a 10xbigger fart bage, but i dont want to have to use the powder and liquid from real ones because the only ones i can get cost $15 for a packet of 10 which i feel is too expensive when i know there may be an alternative method.

Paper or Plastic when Neither isn't an Option

Paper... Or Plastic? The choice touted by environmentalists is... Neither - Bring your own bag and reuse it... But lets face the facts, not answer the question of paper or plastic isn't helping the majority of people who can easily make change but not willing to carry in a bag.... Honestly, it's almost sounds like an ego trip to hear "Neither" as the answer to this genuine question as asked (anyone agree with me?).Back on track... Paper or Plastic? Because most people, to my knowledge, do not bring their own bags - which is more eco-friendly? Please bring what knowledge you find to the table as a collaborative discussion :)Thus far, here's what I've found...Paper consumes 14 million treesPlastic consumes 12 million barrelsPaper creates 70% more air pollution than plasticPlastic creates 400% more solid waste than paperThe average American family (4) will consume about 1500 plastic bags annuallyAdditionally - does anyone know if cellulose plastic is used for grocery bags? If you're wondering what that is... Basically, it's taking cellulose (could be from trees) and making a plastic with it (such as cellophane among others).I am, as far as I know, the only person in my area that brings my own bag... It happens to be a plastic, vinyl and mylar soft sided cooler - but it has served me well. The floor is yours

Demo (Contractor) Bags Are Sometimes Better than Garbage or Other Bags

Folks use garbage bags for storing and hauling . Problem is, garbage bags rip easily and usually are good for one use. Demo bags are woven from polypropelene and are strong and can be re-used.. Haul one load, dump it, bring the bag back, Refill and repeat. Or use it for moving. No worries about ripping. They are not waterproof or completely dustproof. So one may wish to line it with a plastic bag. http://ecobrooklyn.com/demo-bags-trash-bag-alternative/ I think I may try to use this as a potato bag for growing potatoes a described in an earlier instructable

How might I go about building something like this? Ideas?

I found this on a website but it's a bit pricey for me. I'd love to make one for my girlfriend but I have no idea where to start. The design seems simple enough but there are parts that puzzle me, like the charging and wiring. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Rei HuggableFrom the site:We have wrote about this glowing pillow a loooong time ago, but now it's finally out of production and in the market and we are so happy to present it to you. What it is? Well for starters it's a soft and fuzzy pillow filled with 'silicone bean bags' that contain high intensity LED lights. These LED lights in the silicone beads make the entire pillow glow in an extremely calming and soothing way. Powered by 4 AA batteries – or if you prefer to hook it up to the adaptor, that's possible as well – the pillow glows strongly for about 4 hours and then the lights ever so softly fade over the next couple hours.

Removing original Gameboy buttons, mounting them into fabric - best way?

Hi all Well, after considering installing a working Gameboy into a bag, I have downgraded my plan due a sincere lack of soldering experience/ability (as in, I've never done it before). So, to keep my theme and still make an awesome hangbag, I've decided to mount just the buttons from an original Gameboy into a console-shaped fabric applique. However, the technical side stumps me. I've seen a how-to on getting to the PCBs, but I'm under the impression the 'click' of the buttons is because of a mechanism underneath them. Would there be a way to preserve this mechanism if mounted through fabric (maybe through an eyelet)? I'd also love to keep the switch and have it power on an LED 'power light', but I'm not sure of that yet as it involves electronics and I've not experimented for fear of ruining the only original Gameboy I have current access to. It was only £5 inc. shipping but I'd rather not wreck it needlessly. Additional: Slide 11 of 12 of this explains the buttons, but doesn't help me mount them: http://www.pcworld.com/article/162588/gadget_autopsy_the_nintendo_game_boy.html Presumably the 'springy' feel to the buttons is caused by the silicone pad underneath them, but I wouldn't know how to mount this between two layers of fabric. Thanks for any help, chaps and chapettes :)

Can you help diagnose my Seal-A-Meal?

I have a Seal-A-Meal brand vacuum sealer, that all of a sudden stopped working properly. It has no On-Off switch. You simply plug it in, and then put the bag up to the vacuum area and then press down and hold the lid when its vacuuming the air out and then seals the bag closed. When it stopped working, a vacuum bag was placed (as we normally would) and then the lid was put down and pressed. The motor is still running, but normally it makes a louder noise as its vacuuming the air out, and this time it didn't work. (No vacuum). Since it wouldn't vacuum the air, it then wouldn't also seal the bag. Oddly, when I remove the bag and close it (with nothing in there) it DOES make the high pitched-noise, the green light comes on (hands free) and then does the sealing, even though there is nothing to seal. But when I put the bag in - nothing but the motor running consistently with no change in intonation of the motor and the green light doesn't come on and it doesn't seal. So with the bag - not working. Without the bag, it seems to work. I"m using Food Saver brand bags but those have always worked in the past. Any ideas on what to do to service it and hopefully get it working again?

Mostly for circuit bent music - I've got toy guitars like the One Man Jam, Tyco Hot Lixx, Tyco Hot Keys, etc. and mini casio and yamaha keyboards with new knobs and switches sticking all over the place. how to do a double stitched seam? or any strong seam, bcuz i want to make a 6x6" squares for bean bag toss game?

I understand first start off with a simple stitch with a seam allowance from the cut edge like a 1/4 inch. The part that confuses me is that u have to run another stitch but either it goes higher or below the first simple stitch? I dont know this. And how much room to leave of leftover trim?? and i look-uped and they said the second stitch should be 1/8 of an inch from the first stitch. which leaves me again to the same question. or will a zig-zag stitch be stronger then 2 running stitches? Pictures would be great for me to see how a double stitch would look like...

what are the specs to making a fog ball cannon from a rubbish bin, fog machine rubber band and garbage bag? Answered

hey, a while ago in high school out teacher was showing uss tuff to do with the transferance of energy and stuff like that, what he brought into class one day was a rubbish bin, with a hole cut out bottom, and on the lid, there was a rubbish bag(the big black ones) , on top with a rubber band taped to it. basicaly the way it worked was, the band is taped to the bag,m when you pull the band back, you pull back the bag also, which pucks in air into the hole in the bottom of the bin,but at this time the hole is actually the top of the cannon, as thats where the air enters and comes out. now when the air is being sucked into the bin, our teacher also had a hose from a fog machine attached to it, which made the bin suck up air, now when he let the band go when the bin was full of air, a ball of air shot out, and the fog remained inside that air ball so we could see where the ball went, which was around 20 meters, anyway, the fog ball could nock over polystyrene cups from 20 meters. i want to know exactly how to build one of these as i cant really remember how they look like as i have forgotton, i was reminded of these once when i saw one being used on rollercaoster, in the minishow, elliot and the surfing scientist.

using calcium chloride as humidity reducer closets /laundry rooms

I bought a product called "damp rid "in a hardware store that was used for removing moisture from hamper area, laundry rooms, to prevent mildew. i realized the pelted looked familiar and it was calcium chloride. i want to make my own as i have access to a big bag of calcium chloride. it looks like there is a piece of tyvek/ or other moisture passing membrane on one side of the top upper half, the other 3 sides of the bag look like a mylar type bag. The seams all seam to be sealed, except the top has a piece of plastic snapped-sea;ed over it, with a couple very small holes that go into the top half of the bag. the top plastic piece also has a hanger loop.. when i bought it the calcium chloride was in the top hang and the bottom half was empty. There looks like a plastic seam weld separating the calcium from the bottom half, and i noticed that are a couple 1/4 inch gaps in the seam. the calcium, chloride draws the moisture out of the air and turns it into water, which falls to the bottom half of the bag.pretty cool device, and seems i t would be able to make, if i can find a source for mylar or whatever this material is. i would also have to make the seams, not sure if glue would work, maybe make a clamp like device , rather than the welds, this way i could just empty the water and replace the calcium chloride, no reason to throw it out. anyone seen these devices, i noticed they have a www with the same name, they may have pictures. Also looking for a source for mylar and tyvek. I am not sure if the postal envelopes would work, i would also like to scrounge a sheet of tyvek to use as a ground-cloth or emergency shelter when out on my bicycle and the t storms hit. i haven't seen it except in big rolls, i guess i should keep a lookout for construction sites trash areas.otherwise i am not sure where i could get a 10 ft piece. i will take the bag apart later to dissect the workings and see if i can measure the thickness of the mylar

Tidy Cat Boxes/Container-What should I do

I was hoping to get some of the awesome minds working on a project of mine. I keep reusing my Tidy Cat buckets. I want to find a better, maybe modular furniture way of using them. Currently they are just storage, unfortunately, I haven't gotten really good at labeling so I just wind up opening one box after another. I've tossed around wine rack, some sort of yarn or craft holder, etc. I would like to paint them, which would be neat. The label is painted on and is not tape, so if I do use plastic paint, the words may still show thru. I haven't been able to buy the litter in a bag because I am not able to get the large bag of litter to work correctly with the automated litter box because it doesn't clump well. If you could look at the image and make some suggestions, it would be great.

Airsoft! *Updated pictures*

I just wanted to share a bit of my Airsoft Guns, Including a ARES TAR 21 (NOT S&T;). And a KWC full auto Co2 blowback desert eagle. I love them both and these are the two guns that I'd never sell out of the collection. The TAR runs off a 9.6 volt and a 8.4 volt battery. I also have three 180RND mid caps and the 300RND high cap that it came with. (I only run the mid cap magazines in this gun). It has a full metal gearbox, gears, bushings, barrel, (Inner and out). Ive also installed a EOtech 552 sight up top. Its also flat dark earth. It shoots 380 FPS using .20gram BBS. I only run G&G; .20 gram BBS in it. It gets lubed and cleaned after every use of 1000 rounds through it (not during battles though). It also has full trade marks of the real TAR 21 on its side. It gets stored along its accessories in its Elite Force gun bag. The Desert Eagle runs off Co2 stored in its magazine, along with the BBS. It holds 21 BBS and can spray them all in less than a second. It kicks back tremendously and its also full metal internals and externals. The magazine is also metal. It can shoot 386FPS using .20 gram BBS. I only run .20 gram G&G; BBS through it. Once again it gets cleaned after every use, lubed and polished. It also has trademarks on the handle and on both sides of the slide. It also gets stored in a very nice gun bag. I also have a broken M4S-system. Which broke during battle. The lower broke off from the upper. Pieces were lost. It was a A&K; M4S-system, which I actually want the D-boys one now... The gun is hidden under my bed... :( On a side note I also have a large UTG camo bag that holds my elite force goggles, extra goggles, gear, vest, pants, shirt, neck guard. ETC. My BBS, parts, Alan wrenches, hop up tools ETC. It also has my name on it. So tell me what you think and also tell me what your guns are and how you treat them!!! :D

Problem with too much window condensation

I have double pane, insulating glass house windows that collect condensation during the winter heating months. The condensation is not between the panes, it is inside the home. The water builds up and runs down onto the wood frame causing rot. It occurs only on the bottom inch or two of the window. The home is in Northern Wisconsin where it is commonly 20 deg F outside and 70 deg F inside. The interior humidity is controlled and not excessive. Aside from setting the interior humidity to desert-like conditions, how can I remove the moisture and prevent further damage to the frame? Desiccant bags? Solar powered fans? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
