I want to make a co2 airplane.

I'm looking to modify a simple airsoft gun for the purposes of making the needed weapon props for a assassins creed costume a friend of mine is working on. With that said, the arm cannon/crossbow thing (sorry, I sadly never played the game!) is one I'm playing with now, and I got to thinking about taking a simple CO2 powered airsoft gun, and modding the barrel to take softer projectiles, and to be mounted to someones wrist. The question being: would the discharge from a CO2 cartridge harm someones hand? There will be leather between gun and wrist, by the way.

Would it be practically possible to use 12 gram CO2 cartridges like those used for bb guns to power small rockets? I have high hopes for this, but I don't know how well it would work. I am going to go do some ill-advised tests, but I would like to know if anyone has tried it and what I can expect.

What would you say the maximum distance a 12g CO2 cartridge could launch a ~12oz cylinder? The cylinder can be adjusted be top/bottom heavy or have its weight increased all around. The design of the barrel would (VERY) roughly look like the image at the bottom. The cartridge would be in a housing unit at the butt of the launcher. It would be set it off in a to-be-determined way, shooting out the cylinder(2 2/5inch diameter, 8 inches long, ~12 oz) that would be resting in front of it.

This came up in another forum, but I heard the report too.... So today, there was a broadcast on NPR (yes, I admit that I listen to NPR :p) about a $100 per barrel crisis.... If you didn't know, a barrel of crude goes for about $93. Personally, I don't think it will cause a crisis - it's not as if it's going from $30 to $100 in a week. However, seriously, are the masses comatose? It's not like no one has been warning them of this - and the consequences nowhere near sustainable living. Arrrrr.... I've been saying it for awhile - if we don't regulate ourselves, nature is going to take the kind liberty of doing that for us (and that won't be pretty). Soylent Green anyone? I mean, I recently read that the average American will consume about 500,000 gallons of water per year... whereas some of the Nordic countries, consumption is around 17,500 gallons per person... By the way, the US has a very limited water store supply :/ US has 5% of world population... 25% of world total CO2 emissions. China, for example, has 22% of the world population - but only 15% of the world's CO2 emissions.... US has 5% of the world population - and 29% world CO2 emissions from fossil fuels. (china 14.5) What percentage of companies are considered sustainable (by Dow Jones sustainability index) in the US? A measly, 19.8% (UK: 68%).

Hello, This is a long shot but has anyone here had experience with SplatMasters? I bought two of these guns about 15 years ago, second-hand and they have never worked. They dry fire perfectly but the problem comes when I load a CO2 bottle; it leaks. Is this a known fault and can it be remedied? The bottle is punctured on the spike, as it should, then proceeds to hiss and empty immediately. There was nothing around the spike when I bought them so I tried various items ranging from inner tube to gas o-rings, until I ran out of expensive CO2 bottles. It may be possible that the gas is seeping from another part of the gun; Any ideas? Also, according to the photo with the red background I can see that every part seems to be there except a small spring and a ball detent; Can I simply make one from a pen spring and a ball bearing? Any help appreciated as I would dearly love to have fun with these. Thank You

I'm wanting to know the internal pressure of an unopened bottle of soda. I'm thinking that I can cover it with an empty balloon and seal it off, then slowly open the bottle letting the balloon expand. Then by approximating the volume of CO2 in the balloon and bottle I'll be able to calculate the pressure of the soda that was in the bottle. Would this work and any other ideas for this would be appreciated!

I recently tore my MCL and I am going to try to make my crutches into airsoft gun(s). and I was thinking about using this design somehow. https://www.instructables.com/id/Homemade-500-fps-CO2-Airsoft-Gun/ any suggestions? it would look cool to have a war where one second you're limping around and the next you're a living turret!!

I have never played paintball and I love to snipe in video games :) but IDK if I have good accuracy in real life. This would conserve bullets. I also have a choice of a full-auto. This would waste bullets and I hate "Spraying and Praying", but accuracy wouldn't matter. I am confused!

Hi all, a friend of mine asked me to help him design and build a costume for a stage show he's doing; he will be wearing a monster mask and needs an inflatable "brain" to suddenly inflate (note, he changes costumes every 5-10 minutes during the show so it's something that needs to be fairly portable and easy to change into). We tried using CO2 canisters with balloons, a good effect but not nearly big enough. I'm thinking about some kind of air pig with a valve that he can clip a connecting hose to. If anyone has done anything like this or has a good recommendation I'd love to hear! Many thanks, DAZU
