What would you say the maximum distance a 12g CO2 cartridge could launch a ~12oz cylinder? The cylinder can be adjusted be top/bottom heavy or have its weight increased all around. The design of the barrel would (VERY) roughly look like the image at the bottom. The cartridge would be in a housing unit at the butt of the launcher. It would be set it off in a to-be-determined way, shooting out the cylinder(2 2/5inch diameter, 8 inches long, ~12 oz) that would be resting in front of it.

Here is my Knex shotgun. Its break action, uses shells and is ram rod powered. Shoots blue rods and also a burst of 4 green rods or a shell full of mini knex pieces. It can shoot blue rods 30FT and the spread shots 15-20 feet. Its single shot with only one barrel. Link to video is the video below isn't seen or if it doesn't play: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlNcONJB3HY

Hey guys! Well, here is my most recent project, the RSEC (Shell Ejecting Carbine). The title really explains it all, it is a shell ejecting carbine... of sorts. Technically, the definition of a carbine is a gun that is in rifle form, but shoots pistol / SMG ammunition. This gun does not EXACTLY fit that definition, as it shoots blue rods, which is the K'NEX equivalent of a rifle round, but, all the same, I'm gonna call it a carbine. The thing that perplexed me about this gun is it's pin pull-back length. You see, the pin pull-back length on my K'NEX Gun: Reliable (R3) outdistanced the RSEC's pin-pull length, but I'd bet you that the RSEC would get better range, even without shells. I couldn't really tell you why that is, but, more likely than not, it is a result of the barrel. The R3 has a long barrel, which may mess with the rounds, but this, the RSEC, has no barrel (I.E. the rounds are shot right out of the magazine into the open air). Let that be a lesson to us all, K'NEX barrels are pretty much useless (which may be part of the reason why K'NEX bullpups are no good). Features: Great range: 50 - 70 ft. (even without the shells) Comfortable Everything in the gun is well situated (IMO) Nice 'n short, just like I wanted it Heavily modifiable True-trigger operated Good pull-back-length Hand guard Shoots shell ammunition OR non-shelled ammo -The Red Book of Westmarch

Here is my Knex KAR98K Bolt action rifle. It was a very nice weapon and it could eject shells or it could just be fed through normally in the top. It could hold five shells at the top and it could also hold ten normal blue rods without the shells. It could shoot around 30FT. (If I remember correctly.) It was pretty cool. Im lucky I found these Images on my computer or else this gun would be history. It had a very nice handle to...

I made a K'nex rifle with auto-ejecting shells and a magazine- Here's the best part: It uses no modified or broken pieces, and doesn't need all that many pieces that are intact. It doesn't have the best range, 30-40 feet with 1 rubber band, but i think the shell eject with no broken parts makes up for that. What do you think? This would be my first Instructable, and i want to get off to a good start by posting something besides an 11-piece "pistol" with a block trigger. And, yes, mine DOES have a true trigger.

According to the car's manual, these adapters should work. When the player ejects the adapter, I get an error message that suggests that the tape is too tight. How can I loosen up the gears so the adapter will work? Regular cassette tapes work, but not this adapter.

Here is my Knex tube fed, shell ejecting BM shotgun. It was fed off tube feeding shell bullets, which were three grey spacers taped together with a white rod on the inside. It fired white rods only 30FT with two bands. It held 5 shell loaded rounds which ejected where a real shotgun would. The way you'd eject the empty shell would be to press the button in pictures 7 & 8, it would automatically load in another shell waiting to be fired. Ram rod powered. Built for engineering creativity, not looks! It was a fantastic little gun. There are no more pictures, the gun is no longer together.

Now that I am 13, I am old enough to own a YouTube account. I will now use this feature to show my knex guns and whatnot. But there will be no pictures as that doesn't work. I will be back in action soon. And btw the pictures are knex guns that have never been seen before, but are in my library. I also included this shell ejecting mech:/https://www.instructables.com/id/Knex-Shell-ejecting-Bolt-action-Spring-loaded-ma/

Hey Guys, I recently made this break action gun. I know it's nothing that new and that's why I didn't post it, but I might if you want me to. If I do decide to post it, I would change a few things. It's not the best looking gun out there and I would probably work on that, but it functions perfectly. It shoots white rods about 30 feet. It has an eject lever to eject spent shells. That's the biggest problem I've seen on other break action guns. I'll explain everything in the image notes so be sure to read them. Tell me what you think needs to be changed. Let me say this gun is more made for fun not war. Killer~SafeCracker

This is an M4 that I am working on. Sorry guys, I scrapped my old M870 RBG Shotgun for parts, but If I can, I will try to make this one shoot rubberbands, however, the main feature will be the realism (if pieces of plastic connected together in the shape of an M4 can be considered realistic). Some of the features will include an adjustable stock (the first of its kind), a removable magazine (shown in the first video, along with the stock), Adjustable sights* (maybe), open ejection port (where the shells come out on a real gun), a charging handle, that when pulled, will pull the bolt back, opening up the ejection port*, and if possible, I will make it so that a 30-06 shell will pop out of the open ejection port. I will hopefully be posting more movies showing the other features as I add them to the gun. Hope you enjoy! *Not made yet. Unterzeichnet,Mykhailo

Okay.... So, a couple of days ago, my friend was running around and ran through the cable for my Gamecube controller connected to my Wii, the Wii fell a good 3 feet (just an estimate). And now the Eject Disk Button is jammed a little and every once in a while the Wii completely shuts it self off. Not like pressing the off button, but like pulling the power plug. I can't send it to Nintendo because I have homebrew on it and I don't want to lose it. What can I do?

Ok guys, the project has officially been declared a flop. Too many issues with the shells. Sorry guys.UPDATEI have fixed the bottom rail on the gun, it doesnt bend anymore, and I have also added some extra supports to the barrel. I also modded the handle for more comfort (I moved a blue rod on it). The gun fires around 50-60 feet with 2 rubberbands.Ok, so this is the shell ejecting gun I was talking about. It has a sorta-new barrel (it ejects shells in a pistol barrel, rather than a tan lock), but yeah it has tons of resemblance to the Jackal v2. This time, the magazine is fixed. Sorry folks, I tried to make a removable version, but the result was a structurally unstable knex gun. But at least its new (may not look like it, but you cant judge a book from its cover)I may or may not post, I still have to run more tests on it. I cant find another rubberband so Im screwed for range tests at the moment. It does perform decently with one rubberband, with ranges between 15-20 feet. As for shell ejection, If you band the pusher right, it should eject shells from the top perfectly. One major con that the gun has right off the bat is the fact that it needs 2 broken orange connectors. The reason for this is because using the purple connectors made the ammo fall out of the barrel, and using non-modified orange connectors interfered with the shell ejection. Now I intended to add a slide to the gun, but the slide I built was structurally weak and didnt work at all. Oh well. The part that users will have to learn the most is the loading and firing part. If you are loading the gun for the first time, you must pull the firing pin back first, then put all shells in the gun. Then, fire as normal. Now, when you shoot your last round, do not eject the shell. Instead, take the pusher out, then add more shells to the gun. Then fire as normal. If you are wondering what makes the shells, its just 3 gray spacers wrapped in tape. Credit goes to the dunkis for that.

This is my TAR v1, or, Trauts Assault Rifle v1. If I do continue making knex stuff, i'll hopefully continue this series of assault rifles. This was made last night mostly for the tvikt tournament. I took TheDunkis shell ejection system, slightly modded it, and basically added a good strong structure and nice trigger.

This is my new sniper rifle. It has real bolt action, but does not shoot. When you actuate the bolt, it loads the shell. When you pull back, it ejects and loads the next. The mag is for show, but there is a 5 round internal mag. If anyone would care to mod it to shoot, I would be thankful. Should I post anyway though?

Hello fellow knexers! Today I bring what I've been working on for the last couple of weeks ( and another picture of Zip3 ). I think some of these guns are post worthy and some aren't, so instead of previewing them all separately I've made this forum topic to help me decide what guns you'd like me to work more with, post, or just disappear. So I added the video to show all the features of the guns and also to help bridge the gap I'll also say a little about each of them in this description. Project Eject. A handgun that eject shells. It shoots blue rods that have spacer shells on them and it increases the guns efficiency and range. Project Break Action, Break action knex gun with shell. It can shoot pretty much anything including oddammo, with really good range. Project Precision an assault rifle that bridges the gap between war guns and models. The gun is capable of holding a lot of elastic while shooting well indoors and outdoors. Also has slightly better accuracy due to the long barrel that I lined with micro knex to make it thinner, but not restraining. Project Micro, a knex gun that uses Micro knex to the fullest, mainly to make the gun four layers thick. Micro knex have similar thickness to a blue spacer, so about half a classic knex piece thickness. I feel that micro knex can push knex guns further and in a more innovative direction, so building this gun was mainly to show that it was possible and a decent idea. The one thing I learned though was that micro knex are a little thicker than the blue spacer so I'll use more micro knex to fill the gun next time. So that's what I created over the last few days. I'd like to hear what you knex gun gurus have to say about it and if I've created anything your interested in. Thanks for looking! JonnyBGood

If you like K'nex, but hate trying to come up with ideas for really real K'nex weapons? Well have no fear, Thomas Cooper (and others) are here!!! I know what you are thinking, "How can this be?" or, "That's impossible!", but its true.Actually, its not K'nex, its Lego-ah-wait a sec! These guns are uber real and eject shells (yes, they actually fire [poorly *25 ft*]) Although the instructions are sparse, if you look for them (e.g. on the aforementioned Thomas Cooper page) you will find them, and boy is it worth it.Without further ado, the link (actually TC's page)http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/4182WARNING! THESE GUNS TAKE A LOT OF LEGOS, so be prepared for a long build and (if you dont have a lot, lot of Legos [yes, that was intended]) a lot of scrounging for pieces. So, I hope you enjoy these guns, but dont get mad at me if the instructions aren't extremely clear (I'm not even a member of MOC pages)(sorry, no pics)

I am trying to figure out which gun I want to build next. I have thought of 4 knex guns that have very promising designs in my opinion but don't have the time or parts to build all at once. Here is what I am wanting to build. A Trench gun. Shell ejection, pump action and all. A f2000. Fully automatic, large mag with red dot sight. A hand held gatling with high bullet capitivity. ( Not a hand held gatling with a rod and a rubber band on each bullet holder thing like a bunch of tiny guns.) A folding mounted turret with VERY high bullet capitivity. None of these guns will need modified pieces that I can tell from my on paper plans. I would just like to see which of these everyone would be most excited to see. Don't be shy. Let me know what you think. Pics are in order of what I said them in.

Actually, I don't feel like asking for names specifically, as I don't remember everyone and some people would probably be offended if I forgot them. So, just reply to this topic if you've been here long enough that you've arguably established yourself a place in the community. I won't put any standards on that. Judge for yourself but be realistic if you wanna consider yourself a veteran. I want to know who is still here. I want to try kickstarting K'nex gunning back up again (ironic that it's me doing it) because I have plenty of ideas, fair amount of time, but little pieces. Basically I'm going to collaborate with whoever is still here and interested in my ideas. I'm hoping a decent rush of innovation will get old vets reinterested and perhaps inspire new K'nexers. If you're wanting to take on any of these projects below, let me know and I'll discuss with you them in full detail and provide whatever help I can. Otherwise, I'm leaving it to you to build them. -Improved shotgun concept. Look at Foofy's take on my concept and improve it further. I'm thinking of pump action and a large hopper. Make it bottom mounted so a higher powered weapon can be used on top -Controllable fully automatic sling gun. This would be revolutionary if we could get it to work. The potential is there, we just need to figure out how to unleash it. I've already talked enough about it, someone must be interested. -Pump action, pseudo semi auto turret. This would be somewhat complicated but still doable. Think of a gatling gun combined with the K-sayer. Each pump would cock and rotate a barrel. So you could then prepare a number of shots beforehand and then fire them all in succession. All of the above are potential war weapon candidates so I was figuring people would be more willing to give them a shot. If you're looking strictly for innovation or fun then: -Crossbow pistol. I always wanted to give it a shot but never could do it. Make it handlefed. It was going to be a candidate for my ultimate side arm back when I was still going through my TDS phase but now it would be purely for the sake of fun. -Automatic gun prop. I figured this might be interesting. Basically, make a gun that doesn't shoot but rather it ejects "shells" from the ejection port and fires either semi or fully automatically. I'm thinking you could make a rack and pinion system to drive the ejection port (which when opened would let the "shell" fly out) that's hooked up to a motor or a rubber band powered gear. It might not be as fun making something that doesn't fire but it'd be a challenge and something new. -Dual/triple stack magazine. Interestingly enough, this one is more challenging than it should be. Basically make a 3 layered magazine and then try to get it to feed into a single stack. Make it removable. The idea here is that it would have a larger capacity. It probably wouldn't be too practical, though. -Dual stockrail gun. Well, this could probably be a decent war weapon but it'd be somewhat complicated. It would combined several concepts into one gun. Make a rail gun with two rails in the stock of the weapon for extra strength with less length. Your choice of what it loads from. -Bullpup repeating sling. This has actually been made before. I know I got Jollex to make one at least. None of them seemed quite good enough, though. Add crossbow limbs and a magazine that accepts finned rounds and you've got yourself a pretty BA weapon. -Side folding stock. It's very doable, just annoying. If you could set up a hinge in a sixth layer that connects the stock and the gun, it wouldn't be much of a problem figuring out the rest. The problem is how to make that hinge. Eh, I'll come up with more. I'm regaining my memory. I kept most of my ideas in the dark and forgot about them. >_<

I have talked to several friends about the different ways to do this and basically have learned that I either use a cassette converter of an FM transmiter. Well I decided to go the cassette route however when I put the cassette in my car tape player and connect my MP3 player, no music. The cassette makes a sound like its rolling some tape (kind of like when you use a cassette tape cleaner) and then after about 15 seconds it ejects. I thought maybe it was the MP3 cassette I bought so I went and bought a second MP3 cassette of a different brand and motre expensive and it does the same thing. Am I to beieve that the MP3 cassette converter is not an option for me? Should I now go out and purchase the FM transmiter? My car stereo/tape player is a good one as I have a BMW and tapes play fine so what is the problem? Do I need to buy another MP3 cassette only this time spend even more money? I've seen some that are $25, the two I bought were $5.99 and $9.99 but no music :( Any ideas??
Hello, my Mom has an old 1957 Motorola Radio. The radio has a lot of sentimental value. My Mom keeps it on display and occasionally turns it on to bring back old memories. Unfortunately the radio no longer works, which isn't a big deal to my Mom, as she loves it just as a statue. I had an idea to remove the innards, which can easily be done from the rear of the radio. Now the front of the radio has a slotted grill design, which a CD could easily slide through it, and it would conceal the Drive, keeping the original look of the radio. In short I need any kind of slot loading drive that will play music CDs without the need of a computer. That is the only problem holding me up on this project. I want to install the CD player and connect it to small computer amplified speakers that can all be hidden inside the radio. I can even solder lead wires to the eject, skip, and play buttons. So that I can hide them in the back of the radio, or possible figure out a way to make it remote controllable. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much, HandyAndy

Alright, so I never really worried about it before, but I figured I'd show them now. These are a bunch of old weapons that I had at KI or KA but never bothered showing here. There's nothing huge that you've missed out on, but you might see something you never knew was done before. 1. This was in a video so you guys probably saw it, but I don't think I ever put pictures here. This is one of the first (don't know how many, if any, others there were) horizontal magazine guns. It loaded dark greys with green rods. I have tried making a more compact version for a while but I could never get one to load as reliably. 2. I guess this was the precursor to the BAW. I honestly forgot about it until now. Basically, before I figured out SK's removable magazine concept but after I learned how to make a decent magazine for yellows, I tried making a shelled-round gun with removable magazines. It had a really crude way of attaching but it worked. It fired very well, actually. But the shells didn't want to eject so you had to manually eject them. It was too crude of a weapon so I never kept working with it. I have tried making other shelled-round weapons but none have quite pleased me. 3. This is probably one of the more interesting ones. With my trigger concept that I loved so much, I tried making a bullpup bolt action. It worked I guess, but it had bad range because the trigger required I made a barrel up to it. I could've vastly improved this by using the PDR trigger, but I figured out, well one I didn't have the pieces and two the stock would be uncomfortably long if I did. 4. I don't know if I showed this here. I had thread on KI for it, though. It was my attempt at a Thompson M1A1. Bleh, it was very crude but I figured I'd show it anyways. 5. Here comes an assortment of assault pistols I worked on while at KA. I have notes written on them so apparently I brought them over here, but I don't remember where I may have displayed them, so I'll post them anyways. The first is a "revolver" using the redone concept by oompa on his revolver. 6. This one was a redo of the first one I mad a long time ago. Back before oodammo but after the TDS and all other side arms were being overdone, assault pistols were pretty much the new fad, and it became my obsession for a while to make the perfect one after seeing bitz's. This one fired blue rods. It's funny looking at it now, I could easily make one better in so many ways if I didn't care about using plain magazines. 7. This was my last one (not counting the revolver, which was done for kicks 'n' giggles) before oodammo. I tossed the blue rod magazine in favor of a removable, internal pusher darkgrey+green rod magazine. Lol, looking at this thing now...I was happy with the magazine at the time back when detachables weren't entirely common. So yeah, that's all I can find for now. You guys are welcome to dig around and see if you can't find something you've never shown before.

I'm somewhat new at this knex stuff, but I built several guns already. I first search what I want to build; for example, if I want to build a "semi-auto pistol" I type in that. Whatever looks cool as the main picture for the instructables is selected in a new tab. Thus, the comments and rating helps me proceed to 'filter' the good stuff and the bad stuff. I like knex, as well as this site. But what's bugging me is that I'm not too sure that people know what 'semi-auto' really is. I don't want to be offensive or anything, but it's really ticking me off. I'm trying to find a gun that's semi-auto, meaning: A type of firearm that fires a single bullet each time the trigger is pulled, automatically ejects the spent cartridge, chambers a fresh cartridge from its magazine, and is immediately ready to fire another shot. So, in knex terms: A gun that fires a single bullet, loads the bullet automatically, with the rod automatically pulled back. I'm sure plenty of people have done this before. Search for semi-automatic knex guns in the search bar. See the title 'REAL semi-auto knex gun!!!!1'. See a really nice gun, think it's awesome and stuff. Then when you finish building it, you use it and you have to pull back the rod manually. It seems that semi-auto on this site is really a gun with a magazine and a rubber band to push the bullets in the mag up or a mag pusher. But in reality, it's not. We need to make up a name or something to show to someone what's the difference between semi-auto and semi-manual. PS: If you know any guns that have a real semi-auto function to it, can you PM me or comment below? Thanks :) PSS: I added the '1' up there as exaggeration.. though some people actually do that, smh..
