What is the future of K'nex guns? It had literally been almost a year since I had been on this site, and when I came back, I was almost shocked to see that the best guns a year ago are still the best guns today. There has been almost no improvements or innovations in the past year, and in many cases, the guns have gotten worse. I really don't want to sound mean but this is a problem. The only ones that I have seen (and I haven't looked around too thoroughly yet, so correct me if I am wrong) that have created something notably innovative and new are TheDunkis (new ram concept and gun), Zak (swagboss), Knexguy (bullpup bolt action), and Jollex (repeating sling). And of course there are a few promising new-comers such as Icetank and Ryry. I just want to encourage you all to at least try to think of something, put it down on paper, let others know, and even try to build it. And even if there isn't something completely new you can come up with there are still so many things out there that need to be perfected such as pump actions, shotguns, repeating slings, horizontal (tube) mags, etc. You can even try to combine some for an even more impressive gun. Personally, I think the future of knex guns are in horizontal magazines, as they are very rarely used and there are so many unexplored uses they can be put to. Hopefully that inspired you to try something new, and if you don't agree with my point of view, prove me wrong! Show me something that you've made that will amaze us. I am simply trying to inspire a new year of knex guns. So, what do you think the future of knex guns is?

Hello guys, its Zombiekiller-93 here and today I'm giving you a heads up on future Instructables because I started a new job several weeks ago and I just haven't got the time to be making new instructions or reviews but i can still build stuff. The only possible best chance of making the actually instructions/reviews is during the spring and summer holidays since that is I prefer to make them. Sorry to those that really love seeing my creations but my paid job has to come first but I will try my very best to get new stuff onto instructables. I still be leaving comments and favourites so I 'am still around.

I am 22 from SE Asia, I am working as a programmer. A self-taught guitar player, that loves building project on electronics and wood work. I have been contemplating of moving out from my country, maybe in the next 2-3 years, but I am not sure where and what skills should I keep on improving if I want to emigrate to another country. What skills that I have now or I don't have should I improve or learn to be able to financially support myself in another country. Thank you for any advice or insight you can give.

Hello everyone, I'd like to share a thought that occurred to me. It appears to me that there are really only 3 main qualities of a knex gun: -Range -Fire rate -Ease of use Now out of these three we have already maxed out range with slingshots and the NAR. Now we need to work on maxing out the other two through semi autos and such and we will have truly revolutionary weapons. Then we can start combining multiple elements and creating easy to use semi-auto slingshots and such. I just wanted to share these thoughts with the community.

I live near Vancouver (BC), and am looking to buy a ps3. It needs to be at least 60 gb, but I think they discontinued that one. I am not looking at buying one online, and it needs to have a full warranty. Where is the best place to buy one, in the next 8 months? Thanks, BB
Question by Bartboy | last reply
Well, now we have a suitable place to do this... let everyone know who you are, school?, job?, future plans, etc... My Name is Paul - I'm a Mechanical Engineering student (third year) and I go to school at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando. I currently don't have a job (other than little things around campus) - but I'm looking for an internship or even better an externship. As for the future -- I really don't want to work for someone else after I graduate. I don't know how that's going to work out just yet - so I continue to network...

Spain's parliament has voted to give the rights to life and freedom to apes. Keeping apes for use in circuses, television commercials or for filming will be forbidden. Zoos are still OK, but many will have to improve their conditions in the future to keep apes.Right on. Link

I remember reading about Nerf guns once, and there was a site called "Nerf Haven". It was a pretty popular site and they would have "Nerf wars" a couple times a year. In these wars they would get together someplace and just play with their Nerf guns. So I was thinking "Why not do this with Knex?".So who thinks this could be a possibility for the future? People could go to show off their creations, compete in contests, but the main reason to go would be to have a Knex war. It would also be a great way to answer some questions like:Are MGs worth the long reload? Are powerful single shots or guns with magazines better?Do tiny guns have a place in battle?Tell we what you guys think, maybe this could be the future of Knex guns =P

I've been reading around and i am kind of annoyed how people call magazine " clips " ( also notice how most people calling it clips are either little kids or just plain old " noobs" ) Here is a picture to show you the difference and to correct future mistakes ( pic from evike forum )

I have a Gaylord charging machine (used in nonautomated libraries to check materials out) but fear that the ribbons may be unobtainable in the near future. I'm hoping re-inking the ribbon will prolong the machine's useful life.
I can get a ipod clone at Future Shop, but I want to try putting ipod firmware into it instead so I can do more with it. Anyone that can help?

This future instructable will show you how to make levels that I make or if you have made on I will collaborate the future instructable with you and you can post yours. if you don't want to be colaborated all you have to do is post a picture of your level ,tell me what map you used ,what story line you edited it from. and I will re create it and ad it to this instructable. please do not post a level unless it's some awesome machine ,or if it can actually be beaten. ideas for levels: try to get Gorrilda to the Gurts but lure her to explode bombs to blow them up. Try to make here take a detour so she doesn't. I made one just like that where it shoots a Gurt into space if you don't stop Gorrilda from detonating the bomb. more coming soon... maybe.

Well that forum on time travel got me thinking...How We Could "Discover" Time TravelWrite down, carve on stone, burn into our memory, tatoo on my back, or something, that if/when time travel comes into exsistence, someone needs to travel back in time to a specific time and date in our near future (Instructables Control Tower, New Years 2008 would be a good time/place). If everyone were to record this, eventually someone/s might do so, meaning that a time traveler might turn up at Instructables HQ on New Year's. I personally intend to attempt to do so, or at least get my future kids to:)Anyways, if a good number of people do exactly this, there might be quite a congregation at Instructables on New Year's. Or of course, no one might turn up at all...

HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!! This question is for people who like games like minecraft, or at least the building aspect. I am making a video game and am going dry on ideas. The game is based on mayhem, and in the story combines past, present, and future. I need small ideas, not a whole new plot, so things like enemies or something like that. (Please don't leave comments like "Well this would be too hard, you shouldn't try to make a game) Those are annoying!

Hi there! I noticed how hard it is to find elements for your k'nex ball machine. So I decided to make a guide so you don't have to waste time searching for elements! So, if you have made a ball machine with new elements, please tell me and either post a link or attach photos so I can add them to a future instructable! How do you feel about using tactical items like mines? I'm just looking for an opinion from people, since recently I made one for fun. It resembles a 'Bouncing Betty' and it works by tripping a switch. By the way it's built, it's usable outside and inside. Tell me what you think of it, and I will post it up soon. For a future project (blue barrel infra sub woofer with ducted fan) I'm already looking for parts. I see most amplifiers and amp chips (like the TDA7294) have a frequency response usually 20 - 20,000 Hz. But I'm interested in a range from 0- ca 40 Hz. As far as I understand, the low cutoff is to protect the driver (speaker). Would it be possible to circumvent the low cutoff, or would I have to build from scratch? (I'm thinking in a 70 - 150 W RMS range).

I left because I was annoying people too much, and I got a PM from a mod telling me he 'expects better behaviour in future'. I kept meaning to get back to it, but I just got caught up in a lot of stuff which was happening. Its christmas day today, weird, because I'm currently in England. When I did get time to go on, I decided to play BF2:BC, TF2, Minecraft, HaloCE or Mercs2. Well thats pretty much it. I'm back.

Sprite Stitch is a neat blog devoted to turning classic video game scenes and characters into cross-stitch patterns. Since that just means gridding them out and picking suitable colors, it's also a great resource for all sorts of projects: knitting, mosaics, or even LED art. Who doesn't want a Pac-Man scarf, a Super Mario Brothers tiled shower, or a glowing wall of Space Invaders?Bookmark this one for future use. I'll be referencing it when we redo our bathrooms.

Hi there :D Im working on a new knex sniper. It will be an A(ccuracy) I(nternational) A(rctic) W(arfare) L96....i like it because its in WarRock and this sniper pwnz is that game :D it will be bolt action with a true trigger, sad enough untdetachble mag but maybe in the future i make it detacheble. It shoots yellow rods. I also could use red ones but if i used red rods the mag would be to big and unstable and i didnt like that. I have 1 pic of the original L96 and 1 of my gun so far. Hope you like it!!!!

I plan to bring a camera to the future concerts of a singer. I believe fans have a right to do so. The camera will be hidden from sight, but I need a way to shield it from any metal detectors that may be used. Using a metal detector designed for coins, I found that steel wool can hide steel items from the detector in ferrous mode. But switching the detector to non-ferrous mode quickly reveals the steel wool. I have found no other material that has any desired effect. Perhaps I could carry something that transmits a jamming signal to the detector. Has anyone here had experience working on this problem and can offer a solution? ~Bob~

Hello! I'm JonnyBGood and this is my future knex project/challenge. I work at Familly Dollar now and I use one of these price guns sometimes to put anti-theft stickers on mechandice. They are very comfortable to hold and are easy to use so I thought maybe I can use the format to create a k;nex gun. I am working through another project right now but I will work on this project when I am done. I just thought it would be fun to share my idea and see what other people think of it. Please make suggestions if you have any and if you have time feel free to try to make one yourself!

I was going to make this instructable on another sort of paper crossbow, because I promised that I would make a new version of it. But then I just decided to make a real crossbow. And so it got me thinking; should it be laminated bamboo or just a piece of rubber. I know it will be very strong if I used laminated bamboo, but then again my hands are weak so I'm gonna' have to improvise a windlass for that. I'll have to do the same if I use really thick rubber. If you have any other suggestions for my ballista looking future crossbow, then bring it. I don't want to lose my hands while making and operating this thing.

I haven't been around too much lately due to some family events. Our beloved dog Roxy passed away after 14 years and that was pretty hard to take, even when we had been preparing ourselves for it for a few months. Roxy was quick to make friends, everyone loved her and she loved everyone back unconditionally (unless you are a squirrel.) A truly wonderful friend and companion. We knew after Roxy was gone we wouldn't last long before another dog entered our lives and she came in the form of a Golden Retriever pup we named Daisy. She's absolutely wonderful and I'm sure she will be making guest appearances in my future Instructables!

Back in the day - more than thirty years ago - all British children had to sit and pass the "eleven plus" examination.A set of multiple-choice questions, it determined your entire future, because only by passing could you get to a grammar school, and hence to university.Although the 11+ has passed away, there are still 164 grammar schools that can only be entered by passing an exam, and it has recently been revealed that some parents spend as much as 1800GBP to train their children to pass the test.Could you pass?Follow this link to take a short version of the test - the timer is running, you have ten minutes to answer 15 questions.

I need some professional advice. I need to decide on a sink for my future apartment (under construction) and I don't have the choices I like. I really want an undermount sink with a satin finish - and it's hard to come around where I live (South America). I have found a satin finish drop-in type sink, and I am wondering if it could be cut to be used as an undermount sink. My question is, will the bowl of the sink warp if the frame is cut? The sink I want to cut looks like this but without the strainer on the left. Red lines indicate how I would like to cut the sink. Thanks for your time, Colorex

In case you haven't noticed, my birthday is on December 8, just five days away! What are y'all getting me? *cough*InstructablesTShirt*cough* It's ok, it doesn't have to be a surprise. No, but really, I will be 14! Finally, I will be able to - wait, there really isn't a difference between 13 and 14 is there? I mean, no special privileges, like driving, jobs, etc.? Ah, well, I guess I'll wait till 15. As a 14 year old, I hope to post up more (quality) Instructables and further my knowledge of, well, just about everything. Next year in ninth grade, I hope to take welding class, which will enable me to take on some of the "bigger" Instructables. My future looks bright. For now.
