I'll start off with mine. Feel free to check them out: www.pitchfeather.com www.facebook.com/pitchfeather Cheers, Alberta

Some years ago I shared my PC with a friend. As most of the music dumped on there was his I let him categorise it, but some of the categorisation is a bit odd, making it difficult to find things.... The first one prompted the topic, what do you think: Bedouin Soundclash - "Reggae - Pop", whereas Eddy Grant is in "Reggae" Finley Quay, Deelite & Moloko are in "Pop" (there is a "Dance" category) Only Black Sabbath, Frank Zappa, Jimmy Hendix and Slayer are in "Heavy Metal", but Biohazard, Pantera, Sepultura, White Zombie & System of a Down, SOD (amongst others) are in just "Metal" as are Sheep on Drugs, Sisters of Mercy and Nickleback. "Rock" contains Gogol Bordello (he didn't think of adding "Gypsy-Punk") and Dread Zeppelin. The Beastie Boys go in "Rock - Electric", as does Massive Attack, The Prodigy and The Streets "Rock - Pop" contains Bjork, Nick Cave & The Cure (amongst others) ?

There was much fear and freak out [when the box was opened]. But cooler heads prevailed and a phone call was made. “Hey Matt, did you order metal objects of a dubious nature?” Find out what they did, and how, here. (And what music would you store on it? My first thoughts were Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang or Twisted Firestarter...)

Hello, i got an idea of making a series of detailed, yet easy to understand instructables on music theory. i mean music theory, and i mean things you would learn in college level class. i preety much dedicated most of my life to music theory, piano, cello, and listening, as well as analyzing written music. i have also had great teachers that thought me a lot of things about music and life, and i would only feel like the greatest asshole alive if i didnt share them. one thing that is special to music theory, and only to music theory, is that it is a field of study that originated from art, not vice versa. those instructibles would cover preety much everything involved with music, including the mathematics and physics that go with it! history will be included too! the reason why i'm posting it here, is to see how many people are interested, who would want to help out, and to look for reccomendations and requests. my resume: 5 years piano 4 years cello 9 years music theory perfect pitch played in 4 different orchestras considering starting doing a chamber music program, orchestras are getting boring now :D im part of the Tri-M music honor society and i volunteer sometimes. PLEASE REPLY WITH WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THIS PROJECT :D music theory

Hey all, I was just wondering whether anyone did any bands or music clubs. If so, what? I play Guitar to Grade 4, and I am in the School Jazz Band, but nothing else =/ Does anyone do anything similar? Also, if you are, what grade are you at instruments, or do you just not do them?

Hi guys! I figured I might try sharing what I've made here. Recently I've gotten the full version of FL Studio and during some spare time, I enjoy composing my own music. I mainly stick to the Melodic House genre, as it is my favourite type of music. Anyhow, here's my most recent project, I've worked for quite some time on this one, and I think its pretty good, at least in my opinion. Could you guys tell me what you think, and perhaps some tips and stuff to work on for my next composition. It really would mean a lot, thanks and I hope you enjoy. Also, for those of you who have FL, I wouldn't mind giving tips as well! https://soundcloud.com/koolcoasterkid/dimensions There are also 2 other recent songs on my Soundcloud channel, if you are interested as well.

The newest meaning of guitar or piano solo. Jammin' Johns--slogan: 'music to your rear'--is a company with a toilet design for the musically inclined. From their web site: After several years of research & development, Jammin' Johns presents our finest quality 'Studio Series'. The products are produced by a guitar factory that manufactures some of the most popular brands of guitars. The 'Studio Series' features our own newly designed ring with chrome hardware for low maintenance. All finishes are of the highest quality and are hand buffed.Even more impressively, the company boasts a famous list of clientele: WIllie Nelson, Dolly Parton, and Steven Spielberg have all purchased a Jammin' John. Thankfully, Spielberg decided against a very painful Jaws-themed toilet.Jammin' Johns via Neatorama

I'm just curious about the people out there who are interested in ambient/experimental music and creating their own. What programs/microphones do you use? What things do you find yourself often recording? Do you manipulate the way your recordings sound to achieve a certain sound? I've just started recording with Bi-Naural Mics. When I want to do field recordings, I use I mini disc recorder. I offer all of my works free to listen to on Jamendo (maybe I should make an instructable on that site)!

Serious request... my Parrot (African Grey) loves music. I would like to buy/build 'Parrot-proof' musical 'instrument/s' device/s that he can play, perhaps triggered by either percussive impulses from his beak and/or his vocal range. This would help him remain stimulated when I am out. All genuine replies welcome... :) The closest thing available is this, but it isn't very versatile (only pre set sounds) + not very musical http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/bird-toys/jm-bird-babble-ball?pageSize=45&orderBy=1#

Can you guys provide me with an answer, a tip, schematic or anything else that could help me? Thx alot, John.

I just entered the "I Made It" contest and I was trying to post an embedded code so that the song would play automatically. Of course, it didn't work! -_- Any HTML geniuses out there? I have the codes that are provided by soundcloud. Here is my post: https://www.instructables.com/id/music-mashup/

So, I've just registered today at instructables, I was here for one thing, then I kept surfing instructables for another! Anyway, I've been looking at DIY Synced Music LED, but most of them don't really look synced. They move sometimes, but not in a regular form, and intensity (or anything changing/moving according to change in music rhythm) doesn't look really good. Is there any Instructables of highly synced music LED?

The oldest known computer music has recently surfaced on the magical entitiy sometimes referred to by village elders as " the internet." Prepare yourself for an ancient digitally generated version of "Baa Baa Black Sheep" and a short sampling of "In the Mood." Ok, i just want to do a bit of a survey here, ill just start with my favesfavorite music band:shop boyz- their song "party like a rock star" was awesome, its part one of my theme song. their remix is cool, and is my second part.............favorite music solo artist:i would declare this a tie between Chris Brown and Soulja boy. Chris brown's "kiss-kiss" was tight, especially on the t-pain solo part, his other song was good too...........Soulja boy made the tight song "soulja boy tellem". He also made a little spin- off of the song, which is the song "soulja boy with soulja girl". and his last one "YA!", i liked that one, it expressed his real feelings as a celebrity perfectly........................ oh, and DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE DANCE....................so what is your favorite song artist?

I just came across a website called Spotify. It's a pretty simple idea - they have oodles of music (check the list of labels signed up!) that you can search and play in any order, for free. All you have to put up is a 30-second advert break every 20 minutes (instead of every 12-14 minutes on commercial radio). If you don't want to put up with the adverts, you can pay for an advert-free day (99p) or month (9.99).I've only been using it for a hour or so, but I'm having fun listening to a mixed bag of Duffy and Jehtro Tull tracks.

So today I got a sneek peek of the Maker Faire at Young Maker's Day. And with it, something that simply blew me away. This tesla coil demo uses two TALL towers with lightning bolts coming out the top. The lightning bolts are what make the music! And the drums are robotic! That's what's waiting for all who are coming over the weekend. Enjoy! I included a video. Young Maker Day: Amazing Tesla Coil Music! @ Yahoo! Video

For our spring orchestra concert at my school, I convinced my teacher to pick an arrangement of 21 Guns by Green Day as one of our pieces. Why pick 21 Guns over Don't Stop Believing? Because I like it better. THAT's why :P So...I was wondering. Has anyone else played an EPIC rock/punk/alternative or just something totally UN-CLASSICAL on a classical insturment? Perhaps something as awesome as a Green Day song? I play violin btw xD

What i what to know is. Could i connect the positive line of a amp to one of the readabc pins of the micro. then pwnout that value on a pin. Then have a led on said pin that variys in brightness depending on the music. 1. If i could do that would the picaxe run fast enough to update the led very quickly? 2. Then could mix multiple colored leds together to have a left and right channel system?

I am interested in this: www.instructables.com/id/Music-LED-Light-Box/ Will tip31c work rather than tip31 www.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheets_pdf/T/I/P/3/TIP31C.shtml I'm hypothesize that it will just affect sensitivity. (more or less?)

Well sites like newgrounds say songs are downloadable but i always mess something up. I'll go through the instructions well (well enough, i think), and the download will complete but i'll never be able to find the music or play it or put it where i want it (such as iTunes or Limewire). What am i doing wrong?

So I got this brilliant idea to try and make an instrument out of PVC that can play two or maybe three notes at once. Problem is, I don't know if it will work. The sax mouthpiece would produce one note and the two recorders another. Will the recorders even make noise from the air that it gets from the sax mouthpiece? Or should i just ditch the sax mouthpiece and have the two recorders being played? Even if it did work, I would only be able to play a really simple song with only three harmonized notes.

My next door neighbour has a bad, annoying and rude behavior playing his music loud while I'm sleeping fairly early in the morning and in the evening, around 8 or 9, when I'm trying to relax. I need a device or a circuit to disrupt the sound momentarily or that will deliver a low but irritating high frequency squeal to transmit via his stereo speakers without hurting him or his equipment.
