This is the design for my new knex gun. I might not post it because it is just a replacement for the MH297(my old gun). I was going to post it but my computer crashed and I lost all my photos. I had already taken the gun apart because I was working on my shotgun (I might post). P.S. New avatar!

OK, had an idea and went with it for my ZipDart V.2. Unfortunately, currently having a bit of a brain fart of how to put a ratchet mech in. I've tried 7 attempts, 3 have even actuated and of those three none were responsive enough to be at all deserving of the ZipDart name. There is a google photo album linked below of the mech area and the gun on a whole. Feel free to comment either there or here with any ideas or insight. The mech can be complicated, just so long as it takes less than a half an inch of actuation rod travel to actuate and is fairly strong. Thanks for any help--if anyone has any questions or wants any more pictures, just ask. Photo album

Well, here's my first attempt at making my V4. It's packed with features but unfortunately it isn't reliable yet so DON'T BUILD IT! I'm probably going to end up having to totally modify it to work so I wanted to get a picture before I ended up destroying it without hopes of getting it to work. Anywho, I don't care for block pistols but after giving it a shot, it's much easier to incorporate things like a pinlock this way. I'll start listing off the features because I don't want my entire picture to be comprised of yellow boxes. Starting at back working to the front: 1. Uses a new pin concept that I've been working with. There's a red connector connected to the pin, and then the yellows are connected as show to absorb the force. In theory, this should mean that because the force isn't transferred to the connection of the pin and the band holder, it shouldn't require any sort of other force suppressors to keep the pin in. However, it does make a loud clap so I'm probably going to try adding rubber bands around the connectors (but not around the pin) to quiet it. 2. I finally added a pin lock. I'm bleh on it though as it requires a broken orange in the barrel (I just have these pieces "naturally' so I figured most K'nexers would) and a band to ensure it works, but it works nonetheless and it adds almost no friction from the way it's on. 3. I stole KSC's idea for wheels. I'm not sure how much it'll help but I figured, eh, it doesn't hurt. 4. It uses the bullpup trigger idea from my PDR so that I can have a more compact weapon with good power. 5. The handle is from my new UMP and was added to give a more comfortable angle. It also is three layers with no white rods needed. It's decent as far as comfort goes. 6. Finally, it has a tilting mag that's right in front of the handle, so it's easy to access. The problem is I need to make a better pusher and figure out a lock for the new pusher. I think the barrel is part of it because I went back to the old blue rod style. The gun isn't reliable at all. 7. Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention that I'm experimenting with adjustable sights. I didn't make adjustable sights for this gun, per se, but rather I added multiple folding sights that are at the same height, taller than the front sight. This means that the closer the rear sight you use, the more of an angle the gun has. I doubt this'll be useful at all but there was room so I just threw them in there much like the wheels. And that's that. The feel of the weapon is pretty nice. It's balanced. But yeah, that's all I've got to say.

Hello fellow knexers! Today I bring what I've been working on for the last couple of weeks ( and another picture of Zip3 ). I think some of these guns are post worthy and some aren't, so instead of previewing them all separately I've made this forum topic to help me decide what guns you'd like me to work more with, post, or just disappear. So I added the video to show all the features of the guns and also to help bridge the gap I'll also say a little about each of them in this description. Project Eject. A handgun that eject shells. It shoots blue rods that have spacer shells on them and it increases the guns efficiency and range. Project Break Action, Break action knex gun with shell. It can shoot pretty much anything including oddammo, with really good range. Project Precision an assault rifle that bridges the gap between war guns and models. The gun is capable of holding a lot of elastic while shooting well indoors and outdoors. Also has slightly better accuracy due to the long barrel that I lined with micro knex to make it thinner, but not restraining. Project Micro, a knex gun that uses Micro knex to the fullest, mainly to make the gun four layers thick. Micro knex have similar thickness to a blue spacer, so about half a classic knex piece thickness. I feel that micro knex can push knex guns further and in a more innovative direction, so building this gun was mainly to show that it was possible and a decent idea. The one thing I learned though was that micro knex are a little thicker than the blue spacer so I'll use more micro knex to fill the gun next time. So that's what I created over the last few days. I'd like to hear what you knex gun gurus have to say about it and if I've created anything your interested in. Thanks for looking! JonnyBGood

This is a hopper fed assault rifle prototype that has knex gun builder's 90 trigger and hopper system. But It also features my Creeping Death handle. It has decent range with on band, like 35 ft and it gets a good ROF. Sorry for only one picture. Here we have a slightly angled pin knex gun. The pin is slightly angled down, making the pin come in the magazine well angled, hitting two bullets instead of one. It uses an internal flexy bullet pusher instead of the external ones. It shoots two bullets 30 feet using two bands. It has a yellow rod magazine that isn't removable. It also uses a unique trigger system. Its comfortable, light weight and is very fun to use. No sights, its just a prototype.

Hi everyone, I was messing around today and came up with a pistol that uses shells. It uses a new shell design, but not a new gun (well except for the front where the shell is held). It shoots white rods about 40 45 feet. I won't be posting this unless I get inspired to make it into a true gun. Picture 1-2 the gun. Picture 3 the shell. Picture 4 the shell in the gun. Please tell me what you think, it only takes a few seconds. Killer~SafeCracker

Before I can start to build the internals, I need to know what the people want. What kind of ammo? Who wants a sear, who prefers block? Who want a breach and bolt, who want a magazine, who wants a hopper? Mounted shotgun? Let me hear any other requests.

This is a modification of the sling shot prototype made by Katarukito's (I hope i spelt that right) knex prototype sling shot knex gun. It can pierce cardboard at fifteen feet away with one band and twenty to thirty feet away with two rubberbands (UNSHARPENED BULLET) I modified the barrel with a new barrel, that may look ugly but if you want i can take off the blue and red connectors that make the humps/ scales of what i call... Dragon Head Knex Gun DHKG well i didn't intend on putting those there but it turned out as a dragon and well, i went with it... the barrel doesn't bend and when or if i do post it, all credits go to Katarukito! Enjoy! Sorry for the blurry pictures it was night time and i had to pee like a race horse... I haven't had the time to work on the SRv3 in a while so here is what I am thinking of doing. Let me know what you think. I want to release an ible on what I have built up to this point. Which by the way is a working shooting gun that shoots exactly how I want it to I just need the body, front, grip, stock, and bi pod to be designed and built. If you build what I present your SRv3 will shoot 500ft. What do you think? I want to make this gun a collaboration of design ideas so we can all build the gun as a community. Let me know if this sounds fun to you all. If so I'll post pics this weekend! 08/11/2013 Pics of both my working SRv3 and Directional Mine Prototype coming soon! Just a few fun stats of the two. The SRv3 has been recorded to shoot over 500ft and is extremely accurate. The Directional Mine launches 25+ K'nex green rods over 50ft in a nice spread pattern that can be activated by both trip wire and pull cord. Both are shooting great and are extremely fun to use! I hope to get a video and ible/forum up soon showing how to build both and how they preform! 08/14/2013 Go check out the Directional Mine Prototype on my ible NOW!

What would you say the maximum distance a 12g CO2 cartridge could launch a ~12oz cylinder? The cylinder can be adjusted be top/bottom heavy or have its weight increased all around. The design of the barrel would (VERY) roughly look like the image at the bottom. The cartridge would be in a housing unit at the butt of the launcher. It would be set it off in a to-be-determined way, shooting out the cylinder(2 2/5inch diameter, 8 inches long, ~12 oz) that would be resting in front of it.

But it works, needs a little tweeking with the shell (still a little breakable from recoil.) i took off the barrel due to it breaking (though will get that fixed by prototype 3 hopefully (or 2 if i dont need a 3)) last picture in this is the best. *UPDATE 2-15-11* If you are good with cell phone apps and website building and you would like to use my idea please message me. If you do make this all I ask for is a very small cut of the profit, but I really doubt anyone would want to make this anyway. Well, if you do just send me a private message and we can talk about it. Keep in mind you still may NOT TAKE MY IDEA UNLES I LET YOU! IT IS STILL COPYRIGHTED BY ME! Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my idea for a possible website I will be making in the future. I got the idea recently when my mom wanted to invite people over to the superbowl and sent out the emails that day. Many people didnt respont because, lets face it, many people dont check their email more than once a day. My idea would be a website based service that you could sign up for for free or become a member for a monthly fee. How it would work is you could type up your message and then send it to a pre-saved group of all the recipients phone numbers, and from there numbers could be added or removed. The site would then send a text to all of the recipients with instructions on how to respond. It would be something like "I'm having a b-day party at my house. 3:00-6:00 at 52 blah blah road. 'reply the number of people followed by y for yes, n for no, or m for maybe. ex. 3y 2n' " Then the results would be replied back to the website where it would compile a list of who and how many could and could not go to the event. Since sending the texts would cost some money it would have to be made up by advertising space as well as limiting the amount of invites allowed to be sent by the free users. Members benefits could include increased invites per month, more recipient groups allowed to be made, and a feature where you could text your website number from your cell phone and it would update you with how many people could and could not go. Since I'm only 16, I would not know how to create this site or be able to spread the word very well, so I would just like feedback on the idea for now. Please tell me what you think about the idea, and if you think its stupid be honest and tell me. Thanks :) And if you take my idea and start making money off of it, I will press charges. I emailed this to myself to sort of "copyright" it and this forum topic will not be edited ever so this will prove it's my idea as well. So please don't steal my idea.

(Update 2.5) I cannot be bothered anymore to put anything else on this gun, so anyone who wants to build this gun form the pics, they are allowed to build and post the mods as long as they credit me. The current stats as it stands: * Range = 40ft with one # 64 band * Powerful * Very easy to use * High ROF * Can be easily adapted for left handed shooters (just build it like the V1 with the panel on the other side) * Fairly reliable with the mags * Handle connection is very strong unless you try to break it deliberately (which means it wont come unattached in wars) * Iron sights are accurate to about 25 to 30ft There are now pics of some internals at the end. Enjoy building and modding if you do decide to do that.

I just wanted to let the community know I am still alive and well. Also check out this new directional mine I've been working on. It is an early prototype but it is currently shooting 25-50 green rods 50ft with a good spread! Check out the video to get a sense of the impact. Here is the link! http://youtu.be/qjnVRb7sp6o pic below is random Also one last thing while it is fresh on my mind... I've noticed a growing number of designs that use modified K'nex pieces that are cut or mangled somehow to get the gun to function or look a certain way. I'm not saying that this is a sin however I would like to challenge each of us to challenge ourselves by building guns that are true K'nex guns with true K'nex unmodified parts. I have been guilty of this once in the past myself so don't take this to heart. All I am asking is this... I am impressed and more inclined to build a gun that doesn't required or include any broken pieces over a gun that requires any. It is a pet peeve of mine because to me the art of building is using what we are given and creating with wit and ingenuity something great! Again I am not condemning people... I only trying to encourage the art of K'nex guns that don't use broken/modified pieces. Lets do our best to clean up our work and build impressive guns without changing the pieces! Thank you to those that build clean keep it up I am excited by the community at large. It is very cool to see everyone's designs I learn from each and everyone of your creations! Keep up the good work, and lets continue to get better! 06-21-13 Ok I spent some time working on this new powerful directional mine and I must say it is pretty cool. The prototype was built specifically with power in mind. Every part of the prototype is bulky and heavily reinforced. Because of its sturdy design I have loaded it up with over 20 size 64 rubberbands which as you could imagine has quite a bit of force behind it! So naturally it shot pretty incredible. My issue with it was not how it functioned but how it looked and considering I built it more as a test of concept than an actual product to use in a war I wanted to scale it down and see if it still preformed as well in a much smaller package. IT DOES! The newer more compact design is currently being built and tested. Initial tests are promising and I am truly excited to release the designs ASAP. The goal of my new compact mine is to have a easy to use sturdy mine that could be loaded up with 25green rods or more and shoot then in a good pattern directionally at the desired target at 25-50ft away. This is a tall order for such a compact less rigid design. However initial tests are promising. One more thing... I plan on releasing a series of Instructables on how to build my favorite "war" creations. I realized that many of my favorite designs have never had proper building instructions. It is important to me that my designs are up to date and made clear for everyone so that the build is flawless. I can promise this... My designs are only as good as those that build them mean this... If my designs are not followed piece by piece, step by step, then don't expect the same or even similar results that my guns or whatever were designed to achieve. If I say to use a size 64 rubberband that means use it. lol. I promise that result will vary greatly if not built completely and utterly the same as I show. LOL with all that being said I plan on releasing instructables for the following... My latest designed TR8, Grenade, Directional Mine, Fin Ammo, and more. The first release will most likely not be for a few weeks at a minimum depending on when I have time to due so. Again thank you everyone for your support over the years I hope you have had fun building with me and I plan on continued builds in the future. Keep a lookout for the new 2013 instructions!

Hey Guys and Girls, Recently I ran across an old prototype of a knex rack and pinion I made a long time ago. I was curious as to if there have been any other rack and pinon designs shown on the site of maybe that have been used in a project. Second: Would anybody have any interest in seeing the design before I take it apart? Any Ideas of what it could be used for? Thanks Killer~SafeCracker

Alright, I've had this idea for like forever and I finally got a working prototype yesterday. It has a pump with two prongs on the side which catch the rubber band bow as it is fired and then pulls it back. The trigger is a triangle shape so the rubber band can slide over the top, but still be caught on the back. The system has a few kinks, but mostly it just isn't that smooth. I hope to work them out and eventually be posting.

Well you obviously haven't seen the Knetix L-SAR prototype. The lever-system assault rifle introduces a whole new concept that can easily be improved (in fact, I need some ideas on how to get it to pull back further, so if you have any, leave a comment). It being a prototype, it does not perform well at all, so I made removable firing pins-one that gets about 45-50 feet with one rubber band, but you have to pull it back manually, and one that you use the lever to pull back, but only gets about 15 feet, and is very unreliable (I explain that more in the video). It also introduces a new magazine that is also very innovative, being a top loading mag with an internal pusher-kind of like ironman69's with the bendy rod, but still it's own thing. I am very proud of this gun and I hope that people can come up with ideas to increase the pull-back capacity of the lever, so it can perform as well as with the manual pin. I was thinking what could be fun to build... a ball machine with a dragon theme! This is something that might be improved by some of you people if you can build it by just looking at it on this video. This could also be used for something else like a plain old dragon dragon. I was thinkin of adding this to my ball machine but it could not since its more like a prototype. The grey connector thats connected to the track is suppose to move but it isn't for some reason.

Hey guys I was thinkin on workin on a conveyor belt right now so It would be easier to clean up stuff and all so if you guys got any idea's or anything like that it would be great to help me get started. I do not have many gears so i can't make anything with a lot of gears. I have made a prototype that pushes things along a small table put it doesn't really work very well because you would have to use only rods that are yellow and bigger or else they might fall through cracks. I am just playing around to see If i can find a decent Knex belt. Here are my pictures of my prototype... It pushes things along the table sort of thing... If anybody can figure how you can make a round conveyor belt able that would be very thrilling!!!!! The red rods push the items against the table and it doesn't jam when i tested it and left it on for like 1 hour. If you don't have this motor you can use the other motor but I'm not sure how it might work so I hope this might give anybody a idea to build something.
