Point taken. I think I might do an experiment to see how much power is required to fry the battery.

:) First, the total energy stored in this tiny battery is practically infinitesimal. It powers an LED. So it won't start any fires by shorting it. It won't even get hot. Next, it is charged with a current limited usb port, so no 'exploding battery' youtube videos are going to be made here.

The best thing about this is it helps stop the huge amount of styrofoam that we are dumping into landfills in the form of packing peanuts. Now that delivery times even across the nation are very short I don't think anyone need worry about rodents, other animals, or anything else. Great instructable! I will be using this every time I would have used packing peanuts.

I am still in North Dakota but my "real" job is a Professor of Engineering and so it doesn't leave me a heck of a lot of time to start something like that. However, I suppose if there were only a limited number people who wanted them I could certainly build a few of them.

Often computer science types forget how they learned it and start to point fingers and dwell on minutiae with noses in the air. Much like an English teacher might complain about your grammar. Shouting "fire!" may not be a grammatically precise sentence, but it works, and it is much easier to teach to someone just starting to learn the language. They can learn the finer details of grammar later in my view.

Or even better, finish reading this instructable since that is what the whole thing is about. It explains, step-by-step, what that code does. Line-by-line.

Look up how the interrupts work. In particular the timer overflow interrupt. The main program loop just goes around and around unless there is an interrupt, in which case the preamble at the top of the program tells the program counter where to go in the case of any of a number of interrupts. When the timer overflows, the interrupt tells the program counter to go to the overflow label. Then it executes what is inside there and at the end it hits a reti command, meaning `return from interrupt' and it goes back to where it was when the interrupt occurred and continues merrily along, looping the main loop, until another interrupt happens.

In reply to private emails I have received I wanted to mention this:You will hear comments all over the place from some bird "experts" saying that galvanized steel will kill your bird. I disagree. My birds don't chew on the wire and therefore do not ingest the zinc oxide. They use the wire all the time with their beaks and claws during climbing but you have to recall that birds don't use saliva in the same way that we do. For them the digestion is done in the stomach to a larger extent. So they would have to actually bite off and swallow the metal to be poisoned by it. They have plenty of things to bite and play with in the aviary and so ignore the wire.I have had parrots in my galvanized steel aviary for almost 6 years and my birds are just fine. In the summer I have a summer aviary outside on the porch which I put them in every morning so they can be outside and talk to passers by. They love it.You can make the decision for yourself, but I would never go back to putting them in a tiny cage with clipped wings so they are forced to sit on a perch and stare at the room all day. Mine love taking baths in their huge water dishes and flying around. They have lived happily together in the same aviary and they even snuggle together in their bed at night even though they are two different species of conure. My birds are happy and healthy and have a vastly higher standard of living than most birds I come across.

That is where we introduce stack pointer initialization since that is the first time we need it.If you are not actually working through these tutorials step-by-step in order to learn command line AVR assembler then, yes, you should go back to using a studio.

Yes. Now I have been looking around and apparently some avr controllers are not initializing stack pointer on powerup as the datasheet guarantees that they should. Here is an interesting discussion of the issue:http://www.avrfreaks.net/forum/stack-setup-avr-asm
