    If i may chime in, you're right. Yeast thrive with oxygen!To get a ferment started it's always good to aerate the sugar water (+whatever else you've got in there) with a whisk or stick blender before pitching your yeast.Once the yeast multiplies for a few hours in all that oxygen they are up and running and build enough momentum not to stall if pH an temp are to their liking.
