Use dishwashing raw dishwashing liquid on drill tip/hole and drill slowly through perspex/acrylic. Changing in 2mm steps worked OK for me from 2mm to 12mm standard steel drilll bits. Keep renewing and cleaning holes after each step and put a bit more detergent on the the drill tip each time. Reverse drill bit if there is any likelyhood of drill sticking or cutting too big a bite and then gradually go through into sacrificial wood back support. Holes look great.

The artwork is beautiful. I was wondering why you needed such massive power by using 3 microwave oven transformers. Smaller uWave ovens are 500W and some of the larger ones 1.7kWQ1. Did you use 3x of the 500W Transformers ?Q2. If so, how does the burn progress using only 1 transformer, then 2 and then 3 respectively.Q3. Did you use the high voltage rectifier diodes that come with the uWave ovens to rectify each transformer so that the voltages are uni-polar or did you just connect it straight AC ?

Fantastic, thanks for the great project. The pinouts now make sense. I will get one of those LEDs.

Very neat project. I see in your schematic you have 4 pins for the panel LED. Are pins 1, 2 and 3 for 3 seperate LED anodes which have one common cathode on pin 4 ?

"Turns out that the PICpgm free software that I was using is almost exactly the same as PICKIT2 software, so the transition was easy."Can one use the PICpgm free software with PICKit2 ?I would really appreciate it if you could do an instructable lesson on how to achieve that if possible.

Good job.

Pin 15 which is LED+ must be supplied through a 220Ω resistor to limit the current. Your schematic does not show that, although your list of parts has the 220Ω resistor listed !
