I thought the same thing. Also the table saw is not large enough for it, unless a wing is add to it. But still a good and simple jig to make.
The only draw back on this set up it's: Because you're heating a pool, wich contain chemicals in the water, it will removed minerals from the copper and other metals that will come in contact with. Creating issues with water balance. SS tubing will solve the problem. I made a solar heater for my pool using garden hoses, and the connections got so corroded that I couldn't take them a part., I had to cut the hoses next to it. Plus was lots of calcification or some crust build up inside of them. Besides what I just mentioned , your system is very good and simple.
Good point, it didn't occur to me that kids would be the ones doing projects like this one. Plus any gasoline base product is not a good idea for the reason you mentioned.
Are they still using it there to power cars and lawn mowers? Definetely, acetone cause cancer, on much faster pace than gasoline. But again, cancer is on the air already. My wife never smoke, drink, no fast food, thin, no family history, and was diagnosed with C.
Very well done! To clean larger bearings, which I work with, I use gasoline, it does a great job. Not sure about small ones, but I think would do same. After degreased it completely I spray Carburetor cleaner or break cleaner to finish the job.
Break cleaner or carburator cleaner does the job. Soak in gasoline first.

Thanks!Could the landing brackets be screwed or epoxied to the arms, instead of the wire ties? Or you chose that way to be more flexible to help absorbed the impact? At this point, after being put it to the task, there's any changes that you like to make? (Motors, propellers, etc.) Appreciate that you are taking the time to give me feedback. Take care!Antonio Mesquita.
Thanks! All make sense!
This will do it, you need a drill press, secure the lexan to a flat board using double tape and go very slow( Speed & Feed). Good luck. http://m.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-2-in-to-7-in-Dia-Adjustable-Hole-Cutter-49-56-0320/205744284?cm_mmc=Shopping%7cG%7cBase%7cPLA%7cD25T%7cPowerTools&gclid=Cj0KEQiA-f3CBRCbluKf4vu008kBEiQAl-iGq5qPDulY81QHtHj-BGoYHJZJf6SbfztA2_z5MWRIHrMaAnWq8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds
MERRY Christmas Thomas! I had to jump in after reading your reply. LOL! To think that someone would ask, that the $12.00 would cover the whole project made me laugh. I love it, simple design, most of the materials and the tools used we have at hand. I'm not a electronic savy guy, but I'm a mechanic inclined, kind of Joe of all trades, so I think I'll be able to tackle this project. My only concern is the weight of the PVC pipes. Any other dugestions, or comments about it? Thanks!Antonio M.
Merry Christmas and a healthy Hobby New Year! Now that you gave me the awnser about the cost, I may ask; How much a comparable one would cost, buying from a store/ online? If you happen to know. Thank you!
I was just thinking how nuts is this project. I didn't see a cover on the back of the element screws. What a no go DIY this is! It probably would do a good job as a mosquito zapper, if you're planing to travel to South America. Than no worries about you bring the virus with you alive. LOL!
I wasn't thinking in waving it with the plastic jacket on it, definitely not. Burning is not a good idea, it takes the life of the copper. It's easy to removed the plastic, I done it on the past with lots of scrap, days when copper was hi, now doesn't worth the time. Today i check it out and the wire is # 20, which may be too heavy for this. Thanks for the imputs.
You gave me a brilliant idea how to use some left over wires that i normally discard, when I'm replacing light ballasts. I "think" that it's the same sizes, not sure, maybe little thicker 22 or 24 but it'll work, just harder to waved. I have to removed the plastic jacket of them and do it on hot day so the wires will be softer and more playable. I also have some big light bulbs 400W that I'm thinking about painting it and place led light inside of it. I'm not a painter, but just walls and my wife has a lot to say about it.LOL! God Bless!
