you mean you enter minicom, pressing ENTER a few times and nothing ? well, then the device is not responding or its speed is wrong. BTW - your are lucky because after 2 years I should get back to SIM800L in ... two weeks. Before that - what arguments do you use with minicom ? what do you see when you type 'ls -l /dev/???' (??? should be your device). And I do remember I had to change speed in my GSM terminal, it was not what I expected - here you have to refer to its manual.

about zeroshell - it does, as far as I remember. But there were a few "projects"/manuals (when I was writing my instruction) which addressed this bridging topic. Writing by hand is not what people do, they copy-paste. At least I hope so ;) I will get back to this area in 2021. I hope there will be a better board then, or better distro, my R1+distro tandem is terrible in terms of power management.

Good! Then maybe you would like to write a tutorial for a Pi device? It is sometimes a small, teeny-tiny advice which is a break-thru for many people in trouble ...
View Instructable »Start from the beginning :) - you unpacking the board and what's next ? which distro you have used (downloaded from where), and so on. For some people a Pi is the very first meeting with Linux. But no obligation, maybe someone will pick up the idea. I would love to do it myself (thought about eg. https://zeroshell.org/) but I have not had time, so many other projects (non-profit all of them) on my way ...

And now someone has written in a UT comment that I am rude, so appearances can be deceptive ;) (I wrote that Toyotas i-Road has been pure cheating, here I can add - so was Prius). RFID is for quick disarmament, the last time an hour ago when I came home, I love it :) OK - a hidden switch can do the trick and is cheaper/faster/more reliable, I use one in my car. With other words - you have got a point here :) My only suggestion about learning Python - just write code and don't forget unit tests. And learn JavaScript :)

It is obvious - I am an amateur, though it has helped me make the property owner uphold the rent law in Norway and not enter the house without my prior consent. Google it - there are so many gorgeous professional home automation solutions out there :)

They were already there, part of ppp maybe, for sure part of the distribution. Try running 'find / -name pon'

Hard to say with status only. See into SYSLOG or change -v to -V to get errors on the console, as far as I remember chat options.

Tutorials on Python ? Google that term and go thru examples. Try out a few tutorials and select the one you like. Don't wait with coding, don't try to read all before you code. Learn by doing !

Type "eth0 ethernet unmanaged" - you will get some hints. That is a question to hardware/OS ;-) BTW - streamer does not seem to be very reliable, I have been working on a replacement, maybe with libuvc.

I have no idea. The good news is it won't cost you much or take much time to find the answer :) Take care of its overheating and let me know what the answer was - I think I might need the knowledge. thx :)
