This website seems to offer Plano-convex lenses, where as i have used bi-convex lenses in this telescope.Plano convex lenses seem to work better than biconvex lenses for telescopes, as they don't distort the image as much as biconvex lenses do.As far as the anti reflection coatings go, i'm not sure. It's better to have a coated lens if you want to take photos.
I tried taking some pictures of the moon using my phone, but the camera almost always ended up focusing on the eyepiece rather than the image.

I don't think that is possible, because there is a full bridge rectifier it the ballast , and probably another one in the flyback transformer. As far as i know, you cant pass electricity back through the rectifier(that is the point of it).
i have an 8v battery that i intend to charge with this circuit. You can just replace the 7808 regulator IC with a 7805 for 5v output.
