Here's a picture—I don't think it's too bad for my first attempt. For next time I definitely need to pay more attention to making the 3/8" gaps near the spine more even though, and also making sure I have more time. Thanks again for the tutorial!!

I did this to a copy of Ella Enchanted (my best friend's favorite book) for a christmas present to her. It turned out pretty well, but I'd definitely suggest that if you don't have any experience with this kind of work (like me) you make a "practice" copy before you make the real copy, just to get a feel for it. My copy turned out fine, I cannibalized an old leather jacket for my leather and it looks pretty nice, but definitely would have looked nicer if I'd practiced first.
