in step two you can see both states of the scissors opened in picture two and closed in picture three. its working differently from normal scissors.

I haven't build one myself but just by trying to use logic I would say it depends on the relation of width to diameter of each inner tube loop.big diameter + small width = more stretchsmall diameter + big width = less stretchSo if you want to have it stretchy use tubings of mountain bike and cut short loops and if you want to have it stiffer use racing bike and cut long loops. does that make sense? I guess it does :)
