Thanks for the reply to my question. I used the 4066 with the Picaxe 14M microcontroller but I tested the 4066 off board BEFORE I connected it to the picaxe. Maybe I didn't need the pull down resistors after all. The picaxe is a Microchip product with it's own bootloader/bootstrap to make programming it easier.I used the picaxe because they are really easy to program. I must take a look at GC Basic also. I've done some Arduino projects using other people's code but I find the coding too difficult to do on my own. Thanks for reply.

I made something similar to this using the 4066 but it didn't work at first. The problem was that I didn't have the triggering pins (13,5,6,12) grounded through a 10K resistor. I don't see the 10k resistors in the circuit diagram but they are visible in the picture of the breadboard setup.

I made it with the SIM800C and it worked first time, very unusual for me! Great project.

On the receiver wiring it says "DATA --> GPIO #21/27" . Does that mean I connect one of the data pins to pin 21 and the other to pin 27 and does it matter which one goes where? Great project by the way. Thanks.Dermot
