View Instructable »fun thing about anatto coloring - it's amphiphilic like soap! You can dissolve it in water or oil. My mom taught me to soak whole seeds in water and squish them before adding the anatto'd water to recipes (your fingers stay orange for a day). It's also a natural coloring in so many snack foods, it's kind of fun to show them a box of Cheez-its, direct them to the ingredients list, and prompt them to check the list the next time they see an orange snack.-Leilani

Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm! The flashlights can be used either way. Set them on a table with the LED pointing at you and see the image bathed in color from LED, especially with color changing LEDs. We didn't make the shape reflective, just used white cardstock. and in a dark room it refelcted the shapes very well.Have fun making them!

Just a 2 AA battery and a simple slide or toggle switch (SPST). I like battery packs where the batteries are installed from one side so they are easier to replace.
