Thank you so much! That is just how I have made this. because it is such simple flavours I prefer an oil with less flavour like vegetable or canola. I find that olive oil sometimes alters the taste, but that may be bacuase my olive oil has a very strong flavour

I would cook some broccoli separately. I always love this with broccoli!! I steam it about 5 minutes before serving

That is just how I was taught, mainly it allows the can to roll around for a more even cooking otherwise. If the can stands up the base of the ban may get hotter than the top of the can and hence may be cooked unevenly.

I have tried it with chicken thighs and it works very well!! I'm sure pork would work well too, you would probably use a pork shoulder.

Oh no I hope it is ok!I got splateres with hot water when I tried to pick up the can on the smooth rounded edge instead of the (normal/easy/obvious) way on the top and bottom of the can..... You only do those things once
