Hey Tom - Just saw your email and replied FYI! Thanks for the interest and support!
- Ethan Carter Designs commented on Ethan Carter Designs's instructable How to Make a Vintage Boxing Glove Wallet
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! It could definitely work as a business card holder and you're right haha...make them think twice haha!
There's nothing wrong with the leather above and you could definitely make it that way. I have a signature wallet design that has a slanted panel for the front panel and that's why I cut it that way and that's also why the edging is different on each side. It's purely the wallet design and therefore definitely isn't necessary if you were to make your own.
View Instructable »Thank you so much! I would love to make another one...the question would be the ability to find more vintage gloves at a reasonable price though. If you're interested, send me an email and I'll see if I can find some more gloves!

Thank you so much for the kind words! I really hope you try making it and I'd love to see it if you do! I'm definitely a little concerned that the leather will stretch over time and the same thing might happen, but so far so good...plus it would just give an excuse to make another one haha

For this project I used Devcon Plastic Steel Epoxy (here's an Amazon link, but I think you can get it for $6 other places https://amzn.to/3sBjwFw ) - It is thicker than a lot of epoxy's which makes it harder to work into the kerfs, but to your point, it also helps it stay in the kerfs and not instantly run out. It has a lot longer curing time than 5 minute epoxy though, which might be an issue without some sort of mold to hold it in place while it cures. I hope that helps!

I just went and measured the final length which ended up being 25 inches, but I did cut off a few inches so that it would sit flat on the mantel, so I'm guessing the starting length was probably 30 inches long

Thank you so much for the wonderful comment and feedback - I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I totally understand what you're saying and it's definitely a tricky balance to explain the right amount of information and also keep the correct pacing of the video which is actually one of the reasons I've started trying to do an Instructables for each video where the step by step is almost the exact same as my voiceovers for my video to provide a place if someone missed something I said to reference. With that said, I definitely appreciate the feedback and will work on that going forward! I agree, the corset stitch is probably my favorite stitch all around for look and function and the baseball stitch can really add a cool look! I will definitely check out Justin Johnson - I'm always looking …

Thank you so much for such a nice comment and I'm so happy you liked it! Haha yep it is definitely pet friendly (sounds like our dogs have a lot in common haha). I like using concrete bases for low profile furniture like this for that exact reason - small footprint but super stable. Oh I bet the yarn would look really cool!!!
View Instructable »Thank you so much for all the information! I totally admit I don't know a lot about plants, so I welcome the knowledge. It has worked so far, but I totally realize I may need to adjust my plan! Thanks again for the comment and insight!
