Thank you so much I'm really excited to see what you come up with. Please share what you make!
Yeah! I definitely think using two strands made it more interesting than just doing the temperature would have been. Thank you so much!
View Instructable »I love that idea! I originally thought I was making a scarf, and didn't test the gauge or anything. After less than a month I realized that wasn't gonna work out. Haha! I think it would be awesome to use a smaller yarn and much wider rows to make a bed sized blanket. I'd love to see pictures of what you make!

My printer is low on ink so I printed on black cardstock and then struggled to see the lines where I was supposed to cut and fold. Haha! All good fun :) Happy Halloween!

Hmmm... I think it would depend on what kind of weapon was being used, maybe... or realistically the pop tab chainmail would be much more effective because this thing has a ton of holes in it. Haha! Thanks for commenting!

Thanks so much for reading! It's always nice to see another EE who likes doing projects beyond electrical work! I have not tried this specific style of painting on other materials yet. I have done previously painting cotton t-shirts and was a bit disappointed by how stiff the paint made the fabric. For something like running shorts, I would first try painting closer to the hem where fluid movement is less important and save painting further up the leg until after you have determined how stiff the fabric gets. Let me know how it works out!

Hey! Sorry for my delayed response. I have been trying to get pictures of this particular hair stick to show, but unfortunately haven't had any luck at getting a picture from my very busy friend. Essentially you knot your hair in a bun and stick the hair stick into the side to hold it in place. It is similar to putting hair up with a chopstick. Here's an example image I found in an image search (I do not own this image).

I used a 330Ω resistor. Normally you would pick a resistor so that the supply voltage minus diode voltage divided by the resistance gives the rated forward diode current (most 3V LEDs are rated around 20mA). (Vs - Vd)/R = I = 20mA. Unfortunately, with a 3V rated supply and a 3-3.2V rated diode, it is hard to do that calculation for this system since 3V - 3V = 0 would imply the circuit shouldn't work. In reality the diode voltage drop depends on its current flow. For more info, you can check out this description of diode voltage-current relationships: https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/technical-article... Most likely, any resistor around the low 100s of ohms should work. Thanks for catching that, I have updated the BOM!

Thanks for the information! This was my first attempt at plating and definitely not very scientific! 😂I’ll be sure to check out the links if/when I try plating again!
