Another version, for small children, is to put the small baggie in a large coffee can with the ice and salt, gaff tape around the lid a couple of times to prevent salt water leaking and let the kids roll them around on the lawn.

As a hermit, it's easy to forget how frail people are. I don't enjoy making people feel bad. Including those who have no qualms about making others feel bad. Humans are too frail to be interesting and too bland to eat. Back to the cave!

Well said, Jim. It saddens me to hear people speak of the poor in third world countries as if they do nothing but sit around being miserable and feeling sorry for themselves all day, as photojournalists depict them. Yes, life is often shorter in those areas but that just makes it that much more precious to the people who live there. Even if they were as miserable as fundraisers paint them, perceiving and pitying someone like that is the same as telling them that their life is of no value.
