Can you help me to understand what the component is at the corner and also the small chip indicated by arrows?
How to Cut Pin Headers
I was all set to cut one, but first did a quick search on the best tool to use. This Instructable popped up, giving me the tip about sacrificing a pin for the cut and showing clearly that wire cutters would do the job. Couldn't be easier. I filed the cut edges lightly for a cleaner look. This was a 40 pin header. Now it's the two 15 pins I needed with an 8 pin left over.
OK, that helps. Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.
I don't see 1K resistors in the parts list or on the board. Are they 10K?
How to know correct value of the resistor for each position on the board? Some of the resistors in the image are difficult to identify because of glare.

Really very nice!
Excellent. With respect to ShawnS60's questions about the rocker, it looks to me as if the switch in the photos is not the typical up/down toggle switch we see in the US, but one of those lower profile rocker switches. Throwing the lever rotates the dowel, which moves the piece attached to the dowel so that it pushes on one or the other of the two sides to the rocker.
