I came here for a fun little instructable, and was pleasantly surprised to find a well - researched, well - written, detailed article about tailoring with spandex. The work you've put in not just creating the costume but also documenting your work was impressive. I recommend absolutely everyone to read it!

Nice lamp, thanks Linn. Is there any other way to solidly connect copper pipe than soldering? I want to work with copper pipe a bit, but don't really want to invest in the torch or solder. Does epoxy work? What about gorilla glue? PVC solvent cement? Thanks!

Where did you get those brackets? I searched Lowes, and all they had was $5 fancy decorative brackets, or galvanized steel outdoor L-brackets for $3.50.

An alternative to routing a groove would be to use two layers of foam board, with the inner layer having spacing to create grooves. It's quite a bit more work, and will take more material, but will add strength the way fractal7 is suggesting. See sketch below.
Great sub-discussion. Just to weigh in on the different approaches (lowering the mass vs adding a brace): Lowering the mass seems the best way to deal with heavy objects like cabinets, since you can mount at an arbitrary height. For objects that don't allow for positioning of the cleat (like a simple shelf), lowering the mass means you have to add in a vertical member which moves the shelf away from the wall, taking up more space. So in that case, the brace approach is a good one. Both great ideas -- thanks!

DIY Concrete Lamp - Led String Light
I've seen a variation in a home in a hanging multi lamp fixture. Not sure how this could be modified to work that way. Concrete might be too heavy, and of course how to attach the base to the glass (especially while keeping it removable)?

Plywood Hot Wire Foam Cutter
This may be a terminology issue. 2 wire motors do exist, but they are simply DC motors (if they run continuously upon an applied voltage) or servo motors (if they run and stop). A stepper motor by definition requires separate power and step command inputs.
