Would it not be handy to use the third wire of the LED, I think it's for RED, and connect it to a not used pin (via a resistor) so you can see a different color for ON and OFF?

What if you just want to open the door to let someone in or out? Probably you need a "bypass" pushbutton for that.

does it work for 110Volts ac and/or 230Volts ac?
The connection of the wires to the adaptor/converter is very dangerous the way you did this in step 3. If you touch the wires (in the dark to switch on) you can easely shortcut the wires and your converter is gone, the wires should be made shorter so the isolation comes up to the connector and no copperwire is visual
