Looking back on this "Instructable", I probably went to way too much trouble to make those wye connector joints (a habit of mine ;-) ). If I were to do it again, I would just cut the pieces to length NOT factoring in/subtracting the size of the connectors and just cut the ends on a bevel with my pruning shears/PVC pipe cutters and use black electrical tape to tape the ends to the other piece of hose. WAY easier and WAY less time consuming (and cheaper) since it doesn't have to hold up to too much abuse (especially if you are stapling it down).

In response to a question about ideas for securing the plastic hose down to the floor in an indoor setting, I recommended looking for colored painter's tape that matched the floor as much as possible and then use markers on the tape to get it closer in color and then a black Sharpie as the tape goes over the hose to make the tape disappear better. ;-)https://www.amazon.com/Colored-Masking-Painters-Craft-Tape/dp/B076DXGPZS/

"Why"?!? Did you perchance miss "Step 14"? :-DI thought I went into gory detail on the why . . . for a simple "Instructable"! ;-)To your other question, this pattern takes me about 10-15 minutes depending on the path width I have the tool set to, which effects the overall size, and how many people stop to chat about "why" I'm doing this. :-)
