Thank you for your comment. And thank you for raising your concerns. As mentioned in a previous response, I am currently working on a quick-release function as well to mitigate such unlikely events.

View Instructable »Thanks for your comment! I am looking into a few extras for this belt and two of which is an elastic lead and a "quick-release" system. Just haven't found hardware that I feel comfortable with using at the time of the 'ible.
