Thx for the help. I’ll be getting one of these. Just wish they’d had these years ago. Was IT tech for many years. Great instructable.
As a carpenter and cabinet maker myself I must commend you on a job well done! And as was posted earlier if you don’t call yourself a cabinet maker you damn well should. I really love your saw. Never seen one like it before.
Would this be suitable to use for streaming media? Was thinking that this is small enough to hide behind my tv and it’s cheap too.

As a long time and skilled woodworker I applaud your effort. It turned out really good! Just a tip for anyone thinking about doing this..if you're worried about wood movement due to atmospheric conditions. Try using 3/4 inch hardwood plywood. Because of its construction it's not prone to movement and it comes in a variety of types. Personally I like red oak. I went a different route on mine

If your local Home Depot doesn't carry them go online and you can order them.

There is a better one. Try glass beads. You can get them at Home Depot. Not as abrasive as sand . used them in Naval Aviation corrosion control on aircraft aluminum

I built one and Thank you for posting the instructable. Made some MAJOR changes and saved a lot of money. Mine isn't to keep children out it's to keep my dogs out of the cats room. So the distance between uprights went from 3" to 5.5". Also there are only 4 uprights including the end ones. And since no kids are involved I was able to substitute furniture grade fittings and pipe for standard pipe. The whole gate cost me $30. You posting saved me a bunch of money, effort and headaches. Thx dude!
Here's the link for the fittings I used.http://www.pvcfittingsonline.com/1-1-4-table-cap-f...Pipe was purchased from Home Depot. 10' section of 1.25" was $4.95Thx for sharing!
