Absolutely delicious! Very original form of controller.
Dankjewel! Thanks for the tip. I have some ideas for auto balancing it. Getting inspiration from unusual players always helps.
Love those cracked details, nicely done!
Voted for you. This is really clever and so original. Really good job on this awesomeness!
Many thanks for your remark. I originally planned for an automated tonearm. I got an old linear moving tonearm turntable from an enthusiast and it is a very interesting mechanism. Do you think something like this would be better? Also, there are vertical turntables on the market that also got a free pivoting tonearm. There is where I got this idea from. Do you think those turntables got a solution for the variying forces you mention?
Audio is not perfect yet. The balance of the tonearm needs some tweaking, because the needle can lose contact at the end of a record sometimes. Here's a testvid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCdmhpXA5JM&feature=youtu.be
Should be working now, try again:)
It is tricky and mine is not perfect yet. There are some vertical players on the market so I believe it can be done with enough trial and error.
So much swag. Keep it up sir!
Agreed, audio is not perfect yet. The balance of the tonearm needs some tweaking, because the needle can lose contact at the end of a record sometimes. Here's a test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCdmhpXA5JM&feature=youtu.be
