Nice puzzle! I finally did figure out how to do it. Now I'm make some for myself and Christmas gifts. I have hit a snag however. "Fusing" the chord together is not going well. It's very similar to trying to shove a wet noodle into another. I have removed the inner chord from the paracord. I have heated one end and melted it to a point. I can only insert it about 3/8" into the other end. I have tried everything I know to fuse them together(matches, heat gun, etc) and it does not provide a reliable attachment. If I heat more of the pointed end it becomes rigid and will certainly cause problems entering and exiting the bolt.Your connections look nice and clean. Mine turn black when I heat them up. Any suggestions?

I finally found some plans to make a Geneva wheel that does not require a Doctorate in math. I will be using the Geneva wheel for a candy dispenser which I hope to submit the plans for in the near future.

This explanation is the best I've seen and I'd like to think I've looked at every option available. The timing was perfect...I need to make a Geneva wheel now for a project I'm working on. I am addicted to Sketchup and this project techniques should transfer easily. Thanks for posting it.

Outstanding design and craftsmanship! Could you please see what happens with M & M peanuts? I've been looking forever for a way to dispense one single M & M peanut at a time with no luck. Everything I've tried ends up at some point with two peanuts trying to get into the same place at the same time. Maybe your Reindeer with a side angle load might be a better chance of success.
