Very true except that, I think, it would make it clunkier. Right now, without the router, it has a very narrow profile and I can hang it on the wall and put my router back in the table.

I struggled with the design a little (and have honestly bought myself a new sheet of acrylic as well as some more heavy gauge rails as I picked up a Triton 3.25 router (which was why I made the reference)), but I'm more cautious about being 'safe' as my last project got hit hard by the safety police for me cutting too close to the blade.My new router rails for my newest router, I think, will be a full sheet of 3/8" acrylic (the dimensions of the acrylic will be about 11" x 11") that I'm going to attempt to use splines with. I'm not sure how it'll cut yet, so I'm in just the planning stages.One thing I will say about using 'router rails' over a router sled is that it is sooo much easier to slide and move around. Well I've learned my lesson. Thank you and everyone else for showing me the light. What'll happen instead, in the future, is that I won't show the steps on a table saw and will instead assume someone else will be able to figure it out. Of course, that means that they'll take a chance with their power tools and find ways to hurt themselves by using backward methods by trying to backwards engineer methods I've created.It's a bit trollish when I get the same thing in 15 different comments. I got it. There are people that should never use a table saw, and this project isn't meant for them.

Thank you for the compliment...but you want me to write an instructable about...using a push stick? I could put a warning on the top of this about the dangers of table saws if you want. I didn’t feel unsafe during this project, but I’ll be more picky about table saw exposure in the future.

Thank you, it means a lot. I’ve been doing this for 20+ years and the table saw still scares me, and I do cut accordingly. Maybe it’s the angle of the camera, but this build went smoothly. As for push sticks, I’ve actually had more near misses with them as they create a sense of false security, so I tend to work with the feel and flow of how the wood reacts with the blade.

That’s hilarious! That’s EXACTLY what I was going to do and I had the same fear. I bought the aluminum but held back as I wanted to keep the costs down for others. But I think that would be an excellent addition. Please! Do me a huge favor. If there is something that’s unclear or a spec that’s not quite right, let me know so that I can fix it. Mine works so well that I can put a dime on the far end and get an accurate reading in the middle. Thanks again for the compliment and comment!

I hadn't either up until about a month ago. There might be a more high end version of this bulb as this is an unbranded product that clearly looks like a knock off, but it really works well!
