If you using a stencil that adheres nice and tight to your helmet you could absolutely use a brush. I do like this brake and better as I feel it gives a more even coat. But I've brushed stencils plenty of times. I'm lucky enough to have a snow day today, and I happen to be playing on the cricket maker, if you'd like I'd be happy to whip up a stencil for you and pop it in the mail. If you have a second share your son's name with me and I'll whip up a stencil.

Oh man, sorry about the difficulties of sourcing the mask. I feel your pain in relation to finding the perfect parts of a project only to be shut down by overseas shipping costs. Best of luck sourcing your parts and thanks so much for your compliment and comment!
Awesome! Thanks for your comment. I'm also a bit of a wood worker as you might have noticed if you checked out my other Instructables. The face shield I used for this project is a little on the pricey side, but I had the same train of thought as you. I can use the shield for Covid, and once the world stops being crazy it'll still be useful to me as eye/face protection while wood working. Best of luck on your project! I'd love to see pictures when you're done.

Thanks! It is a cool little ruler. Not sure where I picked it up at though, I've had it for years. Thanks for your comment!

Hi there,I have a Cricut Maker. My wife got it for me as a Christmas present and I have been enjoying it very much. You'd be surprised how many interesting and creative things you can do with it. Stencils of course, but also things like making gaskets and leather cutting/carving. It's a bit spendy but versitile and easy to use. Thanks for your comment!

Wow, way to crush the competition! Seriously, very nice work, the combination of so many different skill sets is impressive, and the finished work is a marvel of artistic and technological savvy. I'm impressed! (loved the tip about using an upturned can of compressed air to insta-cool hot glue, very smart.)

And cheaper too! I teach in a smaller rural school district and have two elementary schools that I travel between. I have an art room at each building which means that I have to buy double of a lot of my supplies. To buy two of the plastic commercially made lights I would have spent at least $200. The lights I built were much cheaper, with a price tag of just under 80 dollars, (not including things I already had like scrap would and paint.) So overall I'm very please, I was able to make something and show the kids a useful and practical application of the skills they learn in art, I now have a useful tool for my classrooms, and I did it all while saving money and getting to play in my workshop.
We tried one of the noise activated ones in our cafeteria too. It actually worked, unfortunately we broke it about 2 weeks in to the new school year (our cafeteria doubles as our gym and an errant dodgeball made short work of it.) My light operates a little differently, I control the color of the light via the switch, so the kids can't make it switch on their own. I like this method better as it allows for volume to be okay some times, and other times it lets me dial the volume in more precisely. Thanks for your comment!

Wonderfully original, smart eye-catching design, and well documented. I tip my hat to you sir!
Awesome! it's so cool to see your project with my project on screen in the background. Your upgrades sound really cool and I hope you share your finished work when you're done. Happy building!
All cut and ready to go. Private message me an address and I'll pop it in the mail. I looked up the rates to post a letter from the States to Belgium and it'll only be a few bucks so I'll cover the shipping.
