Yes, the shellac works with the fumed oak finish to make the medullary ray flake/fleck turn opalescent. It's supposed to emulate the factory Stickley finish.

They're super sturdy. They hold my 220# easily. The 3/4" oak on edge is very strong. I would say even someone in the 300# range could feel very safe.

Max payload is 375 pounds, which is perfect for me, the wife and our small son. You definitely don't want to overload it.

You can literally rig this whole thing in an hour if you go low-tech. I'm a professional rigger, so I took everything up several notches. I did a Dyneema stripped halyard (1 hour) and spliced the mainsheet bridle (1 hour) and spliced the snap shackle onto the mainsheet (1/2 hour). I also rigged a parrel with some craft beats and a piece of Dyneema. This keeps the yard from popping loose from the mast.You could go with rope from the hardware store and some knots and be in business very quickly.

I cut out 4 pieces from the scrap plywood, flipped the table upside and glued the blocks in place to force the underbody into the proper, square, centered orientation. During assembly, the top just clicks into place.

It's primarily kid-sized, but my 5'6" wife and I have sat at it many times for dinners in the park. It's a bit on the small size for my 6'2" frame, but I can sit at it no problem.

You can definitely sit 4-6 adults at this table with no problem. The 3/4" plywood is very strong. As far as weight on the top, I wouldn't stand on it, but it would probably support my 200#.

Chesapeake Light Craft also offers a larger version called the Passagemaker. It would be large enough for a crab pot or two and two adults. I'm actually about to start building one. Make sure to check out the pot puller that fits in the oarlock.

The sail was purchased as a cut kit from Sailrite, specifically for this boat.
