This was so fun to design! I think it would be perfect for our 5th grade students as we learn more about precision. There's a micro:bit in this version to keep count - a metal ball bearing will complete the circuit.

Quick update: here's a high resolution prototype for the enclosure; laser cut cardboard and 3D printing. It's going on a narrow wall as an interactive piece.

Thanks! Here's an update - working on the enclosure for the project. Here's a prototype; the components will be combined and will be a mix of 3D printing and laser cut wood and acrylic.

Had a lot of fun making this. I had trouble getting the joystick push and micro:bit button A to work as described, but changing the joystick's SW pin PullMode block to "up" fixed that. Also added the ability to clear the screen by pressing button B. I'm planning on making an enclosure for this so I can make a wall installation and perhaps a handheld version (which clear the pixels with an "on shake" block to make it more like an Etch A Sketch.
