What the auther states is correct. A full battery charge cycle is from 0 to 100%. From 40 % to 80 % is only, wel 40% of a ful charge. And if a battery van take 1000 full charges, it will easyly take 2500 40%-80% charging cycles. Why: see a battery as a engine. Charging a battery to 100% causes more heat in the battery the nearder you come to the full 100%, just like in an engine, don't set it at full all the time, too hot is damage.On the lower side, charging a (lithium)battery from 0% 'hurts' the battery, current regulation is very difficult at that stage and there is a lot of current flowing, which gives heat... Just like you start a car after a very long time, the engine doesn't like that.I was thinking for a long time to make something like this, glad I found it.
