Super cool... Please share build pics/vids here dear.. About reset.. It may happen if battery actual C rating is less than 15C.. When throttle is more than 80% it draws much more current from battery and it cause dip in battery voltage below 3V momentarily that may be a cause of ESP8266 brownout reset...And regarding 2n2222, its bjt not mosfet and it never give performance like mosfet which is having very less (few milli ohms) RDSon compared to BJT..

make sure your android phone hotspot set at 2.4GHz band.. Esp8266 will not connect if its 5.8GHz band. Also make sure no special character and space used in hot spot name.. some time it creates issue in esp8266

I would suggest you to migrate to esp32 coz it has lots of hardware pwm channels and plenty of processing power.. you can interface many motors and servos too..Have a look at my esp32 based board which i am happily using for drone and plane..

Actually problem with motor heating due to very low 1khz pwm frequency.. i had used 1khz because at the time i published code , esp8266 Arduino sdk had only 1khz stable frequency..For current sdk pwm is nmi interrupt driven so we can use higher frequency.. i had experienced 5khz is much stable now..So simply modify analogWriteFreq(5000);It will greatly reduce motor heating..Ideal pwm frequency for this tiny coreless dc motor is 20 to 30khz but esp8266 lacks hardware pwm so not possible..Also you can connect 1uf cap parallel to each motor this will further smooth throttle and reduce heating

Regarding ldo, currently i am using 2.8v ldo which works fine with esp8266 and provides more room for breathing until battery completely drain out..Diode still works good.. but i am repeating that it's very crude way for voltage regulator..

Great... I have made custom pcb for this project.. its having on board USB charging and LDO.. With battery it weights 9 gram.. and giving 7 min of flying time..Also made more advanced android app.. that supports all version of android os..

Empty pads on PCB is for adding IMU and more motors.. so I can make self stabilized plane and drone (quad) with same board

Hii.. Great to know that you have build plane based on my Instructable..Answer: both motor should rotate in opposite direction to cancel reverse torque..at a same time both should produce thrust in same direction..You have to reverse motor connection..., motor rotation direction is not programmable as I haven't used H-Bridge in this design..Hope this helped..

Yes it's possible... go ahead with Arduino Uno or any Arduino having usb to UART converter on board for program esp12 with following same procedure mentioned in this blog with following details, make sure rst pin of Arduino held low... Connect tx marked pin of Arduino to tx of esp12 directly and connect rx marked pin of Arduino to rx esp12 via 100ohms series resistor to avoid any damage due to logic level mismatch .. Arduino micro will not work as it's not having usb to UART converter on board.. as atmega32u4 having onchip usb device function..Hope it helps..

If after upload finished and than LED of Nodemcu start blink at 1 Hz rate instead of ESP12 LED means Program Uploded on Nodemcu, not on Stand Alone ESP12..You need to make sure RST of Nodemcu connected to Ground while uploading program...follow this video for better understanding..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8aYQBdBZoc
