I build ships in bottles and it's pretty cool to see the ship form take on different uses! I especially like seeing the inside "skeleton" during your construction process. Really cool build!
Ha, pretty neat little tutorial! If anyone's interested I have instructions for building ships in bottles the old fashioned way where you leave the bottle in tact.
Wow, I've been building ship models for awhile now and it never occurred to me they could serve a purpose other than ornamental. Awesome post, finished product looks great!
Good tutorial! I've never built one from a kit but it's cool to see the similarities in chronology between a scratch build and a kit build. I might actually experiment with soaked wood now that I've read your tutorial.
In my experience, a little Elmer's glue on the side of the sail, and just glue it directly to the mast. The third paragraph after the second picture in this post gives a little better detail.
