Cool! I've used small engine repair to put myself through college and supplement my income for years. It's a fantastic skill to have- and a lot of educators just don't get that. Luckily, I'm an educator... And I even get to teach small engine repair!
Interesting, I'll have to look into that. I found multiple sites that said "S" was for suction carb- the one in your photo doesn't have that. Is it an "S" model?
That's an awesome story! I did almost the same thing with a little 2 stroke Briggs and Stratton. I worked, but was pretty slow.

Late response, sorry! I won't be much help... 10 10ths to an inch. ;) Yes, we Americans really go out of our way to avoid using the metric system... If you don't believe me I dare you to get within 2 football fields of the border and say that! :D
