Nice instructable. I offer just a little helpful hint, found out due to necessity.I bought a kiln when I first started making jewellery, but I didn't know much about amp draw, as such when I plugged it in, it kept tripping everything out. I thought I was going to have to pay a lot of money to have an expensive separate socket fitted through the breaker box. But, as it turns out, this is not necessary, everyone has a 45 amp outlet socket in their house! It's the one for your cooker. As such I always do my metal melting in the kitchen, obviously be careful. I hope that this helps someone Regards,Peter

  • How to Convert Water Into Fuel by Building a DIY Oxyhydrogen Generator

Don't be stupid! Oxygen and hydrogen will only create water at critical mass which requires a hell of a lot of pressure

No, the flame is super hot, far to hot to cook with.I use it for hard silver solder, it heats it to flowing much quicker than mapp gas etc

What's strange is, even though you say "Dude this don't look real", you haven't made anything to show on instructables yourself. Which is strange, with you having the all knowing eye and such.Basically what this says to everyone is that you are a talentless moron who is super salty that there are actually people out there that aren't like you. What I mean by that is, they (unlike you) are NOT losers. Btw, you got 1st degrees right there bud lololololol

Hi Buddy, seems you already answered "that guy" :-)Anyway, just wanted to say that I am in the same boat as you, I had very little money to start, I had to make my own 50mm x 1800mm belt grinder, and my forge etc, you have done an excellent job here and I wish you all the luck in the world with all your endeavours, including knife makingAll the best,Pete

Hey fella, he's talking Celsius not Fahrenheit, he has plenty of heat for the heat treatment of blades ;-)

You tell him lol :-)I actually appreciate the time and effort you took to put this together, and I thank you for doing so. I do think people (mnn) should also try and make light of fact that this person has gone out of their way to compile information to help others, rather than trying to beat them down.Kudos to you Author :-)

Alright, I am going to be as nice as I can be on this subject. This project is all that it is "a project", and unless you are using it to make your friends jump etc, it's a useless one. I watched a documentary about these, and i'm talking about the powerful ones, NOT ONE SINGLE CRIMINAL IS INTIMIDATED BY THIS, in fact you are more likely to pi55 him off more by bringing one out and you are going to get a hiding or much worse. All you are saying to said criminal is "I am a weakling and i am afraid of you", you are empowering the person who wants to rob you!If you whip this piece of junk out however, you are in for a major smack down! For even anyone to suggest this as a self defense device is insulting!Waste of time and effort!

If you whipped this out to "defend yourself" where I live, you're gonna have a bad day! Stupid idea!

Don't talk rubbish, sodium hydroxide is dangerous, no doubt. But "eats through your skin in a matter of seconds"? No it doesn't, not even close. It is most reactive when heated up, i know this because i had a part time job when i was at school. "Dipping doors", this meant dipping doors in a highly concentrated bath of sodium hydroxide and water, 50kgs of sodium hydroxide to 400 gallons of water being heated by a massive gas burner. It removed paint in around 5 minutes, and although we wore gauntlets, we often had it splash on us. It WASN'T like a life or death run to get cleaned off, sure you had to wash it of but you had a good few minutes before any skin damage would have been caused! Learn about what you are talking about before guessing and making yourself look dumb!, it isn't helpful too others, yes it can be a dangerous chemical, just like any other if misused. Scaremongering is not big or clever, grow up.If anyone is dumb enough to consider walking around with a mix like this for defence, well if you get caught by mr lawman you will be looking at more than just a slap on the wrist for that!

You are of course correct, which is why it is best for pepper spray to have a thickened consistency. All pro versions have a thickening agent to stop any down wind fallout so to speak.I am thinking about making a tutorial myself......I know a lot about making devices such as this, and my version is (not to be rude to this publisher, but) a lot more effective. It requires a few basic skills but the end result is fantastic......give me a week or two to get the stuff together I need, I am not exactly sure how long it takes to make a tutorial but I will get it done. If only to help people who deserve to have the means of defending themselves but are prohibited from doing so by the pathetic government!
