My degree says Engineer, but my job title says Manager...so I spend my free time pursuing anything hands on. I'm fortunate that my grandfather and father taught me a lot when it comes to wiring, plumbing, framing and finish carpentry. My philosophy is easy to understand: Why buy something for $10 when I can build it myself for $100. (Yes, economically, it will never make sense - but life is about enjoying each day, not how much $$ you have when you die).

I'd love to give this a try. But it wouldn't help my bigger problem: Every time I organize and create 'open working space', my dear wife decides to occupy some of that space with 'treasure'. In her mind, the broken Barbie dolls of 40 years ago are more important than a clutter free workspace. :-/
View Instructable »Thanks, Carl. The only 'folding work surface' I'm thinking of at the moment would double as the lid of a coffin. (And yes, I'm joking).
Very good job with the build and with the explanation.
