We have thought about using SIS for security, but we have reservations about the cheap sensors. These sensors are, in fact, sold on E-Bay as part of a security system, but they do not broadcast a low battery conditions. We think that the low price is worth it if the application is monitoring Grandma to see if she is OK at home (but not emergency response!). If a sensor battery dies, you would see a change in Grandma's daily pattern that would consistently leave out some room, in which case you would be inclined to check on the sensor's battery (and Grandma!).Another reservation is that the separation sensors only trip when a door or window is opened.
