Very cool project. Thanks for this. Doing joinery with the Japanese saws I always have trouble stopping at a consistent depth. This jig helps because it tends to hold the saw straight. I added a wooden spacer on top so that the spine on the back of the saw would come in contact with it at the proper depth. I worked very well.
