Assembly Table With Storage
That's just how it looks on camera. In real life while that effect is still there it is much less noticeable. I could probably minimize it by tuning the laser settings even more
Cracked Clay Embellishment
I'll have to check them out. I haven't messed with nixie tubes before but I really want to give it a go eventually, I just need to find out where to source some
I just uploaded a video showing a timelapse of a few minutes
I can very easily upload a picture of them orange when I get home today. Since I used RGB LEDs for this I just need to make a change in code to do that. I only chose the blue-purple that i did because because it showed up well on camera.
I forgot to upload the diagram that I made. I'll get that taken care of
That is actually a really smart idea that I would have never thought of. While it sounds like it should work, and it might on some more industrial expensive laser cutters, I know that the glowforge I used is not capable of that. It might have also worked better if I had engraved a solid shape into the acrylic instead of just the outline.
Oh my god that is amazing!!! Thank you so much for sharing that. I'll have to check them out and possibly do something involving their nixie tubes in the future.
All in all I think I spent $50-75 on this and most of that was on the acrylic. It was relatively easy. The only difficult parts are aligning the button parts properly when closing up the case and getting your cutting power and speed right on the laser cutter. I wish you luck if you attempt to build this and if you need help feel free to contact me
I am incredibly impressed that you did all that with a hand wired board, I don't think I could have done that (that's why I ended up ordering PCB's from JLCPCB). I really like the font you ended up using for yours much more than the one I used. Which font is it? I might redesign my acrylic pieces to use that instead.I wish you luck in continuing to work on your Nixie project and I hope it works out well.
Wirelessly-Charged Epoxy LED Cube Lamp
First off, thank you so much for the kind words about my project. I didnt even know there are still people that made real nixie tubes anymore, I thought it was a dead art. Do you have a link to his website or something? While I was considering on selling these on etsy's possibly, with my senior year coming to a busy end and my getting ready to going into college I don't think I have the time to make these and sell them. I don't have reliable access to a laser cutter to make a business out of this (at least not yet, it could happen in the future). It took me a few days just to cut out the parts and assemble everything. If I ever do decide to sell these I will definitely let you know.

I was tempted to do that but I didnt want to have to deal with recharging the lamp all the time and taking it down to plug it in. But you're right it could have been easily done

The only other thing I have from super mario bros currently is a thwomp model I designed a while ago. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3027333Im not sure yet what i'm going to make next, but I am open to suggestions.
I'm not entirely sure as to what you are asking. Would you mind clarifying what you mean by more on this concept?
It's really fun to just walk and punch it. It's really satisfying to hit it and get the coin sound effect. I have it in the hallway probably about half a foot above my head (so about 6 - 6 1/2 feet.)

I'm glad that my work inspired you to build this. Good luck trying to solve it! :)
Thank you. My inspiration for making this was a similar board that my AP Econ teacher has in his room. I spent all of this semester trying to solve it but never managed to, so I decided to make one to have at home and continue solving it.Double sided tape should work, but I believe spray on adhesive would be optimal (because the template needs to stay on while drilling). Any gummy glue will not work because it will just gum up the sandpaper and make it impossible to remove. Or you could just tape it on, use a punch to mark the location of the holes, take off the template, and drill where the indents are.

I mean the button does say favorite, and to date it is my favorite thing that I have built.
A 3d printer isn't necessary. While it makes life easier, the parts the I make with it can easily be made by hand. The only important thing you need is to be able to have an angled piece in the edge to mount the led's on. That can be made out of wood.

That shouldn't be all too hard. Just replace the bit for the button and use that instead and it should work. As there is only one pattern right now it wouldn't really be that useful yet, but once I get to adding more patterns it could be cool to have. I'll add more patterns this weekend and try to add IR support to it.

This is really impressive. I've been trying to modify the code so that the wifi ssid and password is hard coded into the code instead of having to configure the network. I'm having troubles getting this to work though. Any idea on how to get that to work?
Is there any possible way to get my hands on the files to create this case? I'm not too familiar with fusion 360 and solidworks anymore so i didnt want to go through the hassle of relearning them, but i can still run and operate my machines just fine.

Is there anyway that you can recover the schematics, maybe through the company that made the board and post them?
