It may be worth trying drl sawdust as a filler. I used to burn compressed sawdust pellets of about 2" diameter that I got free by the trailer load from a local joinery shop. They burned slowly and very hot. Unfortunately we moved house and were too far away to get them and there was no one near the new house that had the (very expensive) machine to make them. As an amusing aside, on one very wet day I had a flat tyre on the trailer when taking the pellets home. By the time the tyre was fixed and back on the trailer I had about 1 ton of soggy sawdust on a 1/2 ton trailer!
How many fish have you caught in your pool?!!!!!
I knew they must hasbve invented grandkids for something. Where can I buy one or two?
Fantastic!!! I would love to build one and I have the trees but my kids are 38 and 40 so probably a bit past tree houses!
Great instructable, many thanks. I have made this with some slight modifications The disc and pickup are shrouded, using a funnel and a piece of rain water downpipe to prevent turbulence around the disc. This seems to stabilize the readings and also protects the disc and pickup from damage. As the main tube is plastic the pickup is sealed within it and the magnet is fitted into the face of the disc rather than the edge. The propeller shaft is intended for a model boat and has bronze bearings at each end and as my original boat propeller was not working very well I replaced it with a fan from an old heating boiler which works great!

Flies take off vertically. If you have a fly settled on a flat surface and you quickly clap just above it you will normally catch and kill it.
