Do you think connecting a 1watt power led would lit up ?

thanks for the information. I will try it with a meta piece that can magnetize and let you know my result..

hi , i read some where saying that coil should be as close to the magnet and also something like if possible magnetic filed can cover larger surface area. so i took a perf board and wounded up copper wire which i took from a 6v 10A DC relay. At first i tried with the relay's coil directly. But didnt work out( it picked up only when the magne got in direct contact). so i thought this coil wounded around the perf board should work, but even this one didnt help. Am i making a silly/blender mistake ?(i scraped all the copper contacts in the perf board which lies beneath the windings, and the LED is connected in opposite way, so if current flows in either ways one of the LED should be ON)

hi, i made a coil using a perf board, so that it can stay flat and close to the magnet(i removed the copper contacts of the perf board beneath the windings). and just to test it, i connected 2 LED's(like a rectifier, so when current flows in either direction any one of the LED stays ON). BUt this did not work,.. Am i making any silly/blender mistake... can you plz help.
